This was the first stop on my bachelor party extravaganza in Philly. The pub is located up a flight of long stairs (mental note of Royal Stumble hazard!) There are some booths and table chair sets to the right a case of the bobble/nodding head dolls. My favorite was a headless George W Bush!! The bar is to the left. It is typical rectangle with about 10 stools. ALmsot everything is made of wood. The fermenters are viewable behind some glass. There is another room of tables and chairs for dining. We sat there. The were 5-6 beers on tap and no cask. Only on certain nites do they run a cask, just put a firkin on the bar and drink till its gone.
The beers were pretty tasty. Nothing overwhelming or mindblowing, but all were well crafted and easy to drink. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. We actually ran into him at MOnks later, more evidence of knowledgeable staff IMO.
Food is typical pub grub. I orderd a pulled pork sandwich, as is my normal at a new brewpub. Everyone at the table was pleased with their meal, but I was a little disappointed. The sandwich was a little dry and since it was on sourdough, this dried it even more. NOt a lot of sauce. Flavor was good but a little too dry for my tastes. Like I said everyone else was pretty happy, the Jumbalaya especially was a fan favorite.
Overall I enjoyed the pub and I am planning to come back into town for the Royal Stumble next time they hold it. Should be a fun time!

Finally made it here on a recent trip to Philly. You have to climb up a set of narrow stairs to the second floor where the brewpub is. Definitely an old place re-purposed. It has a nice old wood bar. Old wood floors. It is a little dark, but has a big old skylight in it. The beers were good. We definitely enjoyed them. We did have any appetizers, but the dinners we had were all well received. The fries were right up there with Monk’s. I had the salmon, and it was excellent. There were also very positive reports on the French dip and the meatloaf. Definitely worth the trip!

Checked this place out on a recent visit to Philly, very knowledgeable staff eager to talk about beer! This combined with the interesting rotating offerings on draught made it a worthwhile visit. I didn't have a chance to try the food on this visit but will next time. Definitely worth dropping by this place if you are in the area, you won't regret it.
