I felt like having and IPA and went for this one based on that brewers notes on the bottle and that it was an IPA rated at 65 ibus. It looks like it should. Its got that IPA color with some haze but not filtered to the max like some. Really nice white bubbles in the head. Looks tasty. The smell is awesome. Its not intense but there is that hint of the citrus you get from the hops and not bitterness. Really good dry hopping done on this to get the smell like this. However its very subtle bit its there. The flavor is as described. Hoppy but not in the bitter sense. It has a very balanced taste and all of the proper citrus flavors that should be there. Just the type I was hoping to purchase. It has a medium yet sticky mouthfeel due to the acidity from the hops that cleans your palate off waiting for more. Nice beer by a kind of small yet consistant local brewer.

From BeerAdvocate magazine Issue #77 (June 2013):

LOOK: Hazy gold, clingy foam head

SMELL: Ripe stone fruit, bready, musty

TASTE: Crisp carbonation, smooth, slick, malty sweet, bready, toasty, caramel, faint citrus, orange marmalade, herbal; grainy, dry finish

In a beer world seemingly dominated by IPAs, this one falls short of what most might expect: a pronounced hop character. Label boasts, “a cornucopia of five hop varieties, which yield striking flavor and aroma,” however, it’s really more of a Pale Ale, and an average one at that.

Geez I don't get all the ho-hum reviews of this- I really like it! Poured at a good temperature with a medium sized, foamy, cream-colored head that soon subsided to a light cover and some lace. Color is a slightly hazy orange amber with some tiny bubble trails. Aroma is hops up front with resin, citrus, spice, malt in the background and a bit of wet cardboard. Flavor's much like nose with tang and hop on top a hint of sweet below. Body/carbonation are perfect. Finish is like flavor, has some significant alcohol warmth, and is quite long. Very drinkable.

Amber color in the wine glass with a better than average foamy cap. Sudsy mouthfeel that lasts well. Just a whiff of something like Cascade hops, with the flowery and resiny notes.

The first sip is a little underwhelming since the hops are rather shy and it's on the murky side. However, it opens up into a sweet and tangy flavor. A pleasant spicy taste. The bitterness takes a while to appear, but it leaves a nice burn for the finish. Overall this is kind of soft and herbaceous, but then it turns sharper with some mineral flavors and the hoppy bite at the end.

If you're expecting a massive hoppiness, this could be considered to be an anemic IPA, but it's a warm and hoppy brew that turns out to be highly drinkable. It's just not a hop blast. From the 22 oz bottle bought at Pioneer Market in La Conner. Not a bad price.
