Visited on Thursday, January 19th.
Location: Mid-block on the N. Dallas Tollway one-way feeder so it's not the easiest place to get to. Sits by itself in the middle of an office corridor/ghetto. Very lifeless area. I had to make a dry run to make sure I knew where it was before I went back later in the evening. Building is typical Austin-style stone-nice to look at but it doesn't give you the warm-fuzzies.
Ambiance: This is part of the smallish Two Rows chain, one of which is on Greenville in Dallas that has a much warmer feel. I was there at happy hour and it was very dark at the bar-verrryyy dark. I could not even read my newspaper without squinting. Some neon (!) in the bar which I didn't quite get. Beers were $2 each with only 6 on tap. Typical light/amber/red mixture of styles. The bar area was about 3/4 filled.
Beer: I ordered a Dark Wheat Double Bock. Sounded great-until it arrived in a frosted pint glass. No nose, no taste, just tongue-numbing coldness. I warmed it with my hands for a while-the two ladies next to me thought I was off-no bar chatter from those two! Once I got it to about the proper temp. the heavy malts came through. Good body and flavor. A good beer ruined by the cold mug.
Second beer was Otto's Dark Ale. I was figuring a Scotch Ale/Stout or something along those lines. I specifically ordered a room temp. glass. What I got was an insipid, lifeless, beer with no body, no nose, nothing. Just a very dark beer that had some small elements of a brown ale. I tried to like this beer-or at least finish it. I ended up leaving half the glass on the bar.
Service: The bartender was prompt and friendly.
This was one of the lamest brewpubs I've ever been to. This chain is not at the top of the foodchain for brewpubs but the Greenville and Houston locations at least make enough decent beers to enjoy oneself. No repeat trip to this establishment for me.

I agree with others that the location is less than desirable for a brewpub, but the atmosphere is actually much better than some of their other locations that I've been to. We're in town last summer for the FC Dallas vs. LA Galaxy, so I decided to take the family here for dinner. I knew I probably couldn't go wrong, as the food is actually the one thing that you can usually count on. The service is always hit or miss, as is the case with some of the beer. I was in luck on this occasion, as they had recently tapped some fresh Hopzilla. Needless to say, I was in a hop induced trance for most of my meal while the kids had a sugar rush from the Ugly Mug rootbeer. The accountant (a.k.a. mutant) wife was pleased with the check. Feel free to stop by if you can find the damn place!

My first visit to the new Two Rows off the tollway was last night. Over the years I've been to the Greenville Ave location many times, but never to any other Two Rows. This one is located on the access road to the Tollway, not exactly a prime location for a brewpub, I think. There are no other restaurants in the immediate area. The decor is a slight step from the Dallas restaurant, with nicer lighting and furnishings, and thankfully the music is quiet enough to talk at normal volume during dinner. Loud music has annoyed me at the other location.
The service was excellent. I was promptly seated, served promptly, and every time my beers got low, the waitress walked over to see if I wanted any more, yet I didn't feel she was hovering at any time. This quite impressed me because the Greenville location's service has been terrible occasionally, otherwise just adequate.
Beer selection was basically the same as the Greenville location, but their special seasonal beer was a cask-conditioned red. Excited at the possibility, I tried it out. Unfortunately, it came much too cold, in a frosty iced glass. It was reasonably tasty, but the aroma was lacking, after it warmed a bit. I was disappointed that a brewery willing to go to the trouble of making a cask beer didn't instruct their staff on proper serving. Their Route 66 Amber and Summer Ale were typical brewpub fare.
The menu is a bit larger than the Greenville location. I got the Sashimi-grade Tuna steak, grilled rare. It was prepared very well, with the outside grilled to a very thin crisp, the inside succuluntly red and tasty. The side of fried okra (a favorite dish of mine) was beautiful, with a very light, flaky crust and lots of okra flavor remaining.
Not the best place in the Metroplex to go for when you want exceptional beer, but otherwise, this is a pleasant restaurant, superior in most every other way to the main Dallas location.

Well, it had been awhile since I'd been to a Two Rows so I decided to check out this one. Previously I had only been to the Dallas location, and remembered it as a decent place with decent if not spectacular beers.
The atmosphere here is decent, service was reasonable but not spectacular on this night....the food was slightly above average, though a little cold....but the beer was completely hit or miss.
There were only 6 beers on the menu, seems like the last time I went to the Dallas location (granted a couple years back) there were quite a few more. I only had time for two pints...the Barking Fish Porter, and the Dark Wheat Dopplebock. The Porter was nothing like I remembered..barely any roasted malt character in either the taste or aroma..watery, and not enjoyable at all. the Dopplebock was surprisingly much better...although a tad sweet.
Overall, it wasn't a bad place...but they could do a little quality control across the board...as of now, I'm can't say I'm overly motivated for return visit.
