Caged and corked bottle, poured into a Ommegang flute, Pours a slightly cloudy light orange amber. Thin white fine head stays active from carbonation. Looks nice. Complex aroma of piney hops, pineapple, caramel malt. Flavor follows with a neutral malt body with herbal and piney hops, pineapple and light fruit. Midway, the flavor becomes increasingly dominated by hops and finishes very bitter, although enough hop flavor remains to make the finish satisfactory. Very nice creamy mouth feel. Not quite well balanced with a too stark of a finish, but still a nicely made and enjoyable, very hoppy American style IPA. Sadly the price of this bottle may end the chance of a repeat visit (not to mention that I've never seen it available again anywhere!).

750mL bottle from CBX. Poured into a Duvel tulip...
A: Well, it took a pair of pliers to get the cage off... Pours a golden orange, with a sudsy, 3-finger white head. Leaves some splotchy sheets of lace.
S: Light bready malts; fruity hops - light citrus; some alcohol is noticeable - smells a touch hot, which is odd at 7.2%; has a pretty substantial wheat aroma, too.
T: Biscuit; pithy hops (orange and lemon); some peppery spice on the end; does have a touch of alcohol on the end. This beer seems to have a lot of tiny things going on... nothing big and in your face, for sure.
M: Medium-full mouthfeel; moderate carbo with some zing, yet still a touch syrupy. The bottle conditioning adds an interesting element to this fuller bodied IPA... keeps things a little livelier.
O: A nice IPA, but I'm really not sure I'd classify this as an American IPA, but I guess its not really an English IPA, either. It has some pretty pronounced citrus hoppiness, but at the same time, the heavy dose of bottle conditioned yeast sediment adds some additional fruitiness and fizziness that takes away from the usual hop punch of an American IPA. Regardless, it's a good beer, with some interesting complexities.

Slightly hazy orange, 5mm of foam, quite beautiful in its own.
In the smell some malt, light, after all, and a light hop.
More interesting taste, with a good warming alcoholic note. Some hop, more intense in the aftertaste, honey hints, and fruity notes here and there.
Full, maybe just a bit too boozy, but ok. Good beer (not the best one) from a great brewpub.
