Thanks to Eric for gifting me with a can of this. I guess every once in awhile we owe it to ourselves to step back and drink something mass produced in order to appreciate the finer offerings... (or at least that is what I am told.) The brew pours a very light color of yellow that is perfectly clear. About a finger and a half of white billowy froth sits atop composed of rather large bubbles. It surprisingly leaves a webby pattern of lacework on the glass. Bubbles of carbonation emit from the solution almost like it is pissed off about being poured into a glass. These rising bubbles maintain some disturbance across the top.

The smell of this brew has some metallic/mineral character overtop of an adjunct sweetness. I say adjunct sweetness generically here because the sweetness to the nose does not seem grainy and fresh, it seems to come from something else that I am not use to smelling. There is almost a dusty afterthought to the aroma here along with the faintest touch of herbal (hops?) I am really putting forth some effort here to pick out descriptors to the aroma but that is it, im spent. I really dont pick up on anything else.

If cold was a flavor, this one got it! "Ice brewed below freezing." I don't know what that means... Just like the aroma hinted towards, this one has an awkward sweetness about it that blends with a metallic/mineral character that isn't that enjoyable. It persists into the aftertaste with a sweetness that is minorly reminiscent of corn. The aftertaste is a mixture of sweetness like bubblegum coupled with faint indications of herbal hops but without the bitterness, only a trace flavoring.

This is a light bodied brew with a moderate amount of carbonation. I drink this and I am immediately taken back to my days before I was of legal drinking age. If you dont have a choice and you are forced to drink this than it is pretty good. But living in the wonderful world we do, and being of legal drinking age, thank God this isn't something I have to be forced to drink. If you are going to drink this, make sure it is cold. ICE cold...

Appearance - Light golden, clear color, with a stark-white head, which is soapy on the sides and frothy on the top. The head retains very well and leaves lots of nice lacing.

Aroma - Sweetness, and that typical and inviting beer aroma. Some grassy hops, maybe? A little corn. Breadiness.

Taste - Grainy, some white breadiness from the barley, and a little bit of corn. It finishes with some hop bitterness, and a noticeable metallic note, which, while it does not spoil the experience, is not pleasant either. The overall flavor is very bold, very rich, and full.

Finish - Very dry, crisp, and refreshing. Emphasis on the dryness.

Overall - Very, very good. Much more of a bold and flavorful brew than I suspected (it was only $1 for the bottle). The only bone with this beer I have to pick is the very noticeable metallic flavor.
