served from a bottle into a pilsner glass

Pours a very pale straw color, minimal head. Whatever. It looks about as appetizing as I expected, which is to say: not.

You can pick up faint whiffs of corn and cereal grain. Nothing else, really. Terrible.

Here's where this beer really surprised me. I was expecting the bad kind of typical light lager flavors, but I did not get that at all. Instead, I got... nothing. Absolutely nothing. I'm not even exaggerating. This was seltzer water. If you really tried you could pick up some of the cereal grain, but that may have actually been imagination.

64 calories = thin, watery. it compliments the [lack of] flavor, I guess. Really carbonated for no reason. As for drinkability, this beer is immensely drinkable. It is as drinkable as water is, because that is all it tastes like.

I came into this travesty with an open mind, but even bad beer tastes like beer in some way. MGD 64 doesn't even try to taste like beer.

We bought a whole bunch of cases of this beer at the bar which employs me because we were told that the Miller girls were going to come by and do a promotion. Well they came by, and only stayed for about 20 minutes, so we were left with A LOT of this beer left. We all choked it down in a few days to make room in our refrigerators.

Appearance- Pale yellow. Looks like it smells - cat urine.

Aroma- Very slight hints of corn, and that's it.

Mouth Feel- Beyond light. Like club soda.

Taste- As I said before, cat urine. Also tastes like tin, like bad tap water.

Drinkability- It's drinkable in that you can throw back 15 without getting that drunk, but that actually hurts the drinkability, since you cant get drunk enough quick enough to not care about horrid taste.

Appearance - Has a thin head and pours a very pale yellow color.

Smell - Some corn and that's about it.

Taste - Corn and water, not much there.

Mouthfeel - Thin and watery as expected, but still, is this the best they could do?

Drinkablity - No thank you. Not again. Be careful what you drink at Memorial Day get togethers.

12 oz. clear bottle, purchased a single on a whim to see how light it really is,

A: Pours a very pale yellow with a solid white head, soapy, fair lace.

S: Very light, minour cereal notes.

T: Really, it tastes like carbonated seltzer water. The major flavour is carbonic acid, not a hint of malt or hops.

M: Incredibly thin, feels like water in the mouth.

D: Light beyond light, thin beyond thin. You might as well drink water since you'll get the same flavour profile. Miller's answer to the pallid nature of Michelob Ultra I guess.

Appearance: Pours a very pale golden color with little carbonation and lacing.
Smell: Not much here. Very light malts, husky aroma.
Taste: Initial crisp bite fades very quickly. Malt backbone is extremely weak with the flavor of cooked corn. Odd metallic aftertaste also noted.
Mouthfeel: Extremely thin texture, watery at best. Perhaps one of the most watered-down brews I've ever had.
Drinkability: I can see why someone would want several- it's thin, low calorie, and not that challenging to the taste buds- but therein is the problem- though weak in body, I don't care for the taste that I do notice.

Overall- Quite watery and wimpy. Not that offensive in taste, but not worthwhile.

One of the easiest beers to drink...ever. It goes down like nothing, because it kinda is nothing. Its whole marketing campaign paints as a healthy, low-calorie beer. Unfortunately this leads to not much taste, although what is there is average, not awful. Pretty unremarkable beer, but not a bad choice if you are health conscious or wanting a great many because it does go down really easy. I guess if you are health conscious you wouldn't drink all that much. Haha

My wife asked me to pick up a sixer of this last week, so I'm just doing my part in sampling one. I'll serve this at refrigerator temperature in a pilsner glass. 12oz. twist-off cap.

Appearance- Until this starts to accumulate in the glass, it barely shows any color at all... it then reads a pale straw tone. Multiple streams of bubbles launch from the bottom... all told, the white cap summons up a finger's worth of foam and never completely goes away.

Smell- Sweet corn floods the nostrils, with just a suggestion of grain but no hops. The unpleasant vegetal, cereal aroma that one might associate with this style is thankfully not present... in fact, as the beer opens up there's not much of a smell at all aside from the initial blast.

Taste- There is none. Seriously... this could be club soda or seltzer or something like that... I'm not even picking up the adjuncts. It's carbonated water.

Mouthfeel/Drinkability- At least the texture is nice... a tad sharp and prickly for the first millisecond but then it's quick and tight, staying frothy and active while in the mouth. As with Yeungling Light, which I tried for the first time last week, this could be phenomenally satisfying in the dead of Summer's heat, quenching one's thirst while playing beach volleyball or something. Just don't expect *anything* in the way of taste, they left that part out.

I was feeling fat so I bought a 12 pack of this shit. Im not going to even call this beer. I have had light beer that tastes like beer before and this just tastes like canned corn water filtered through a metal strainer. Pours a light golden pee color. The aroma is kinda malty and super adjunct. Taste is corny and sweet with virtually no hop flavor. Besides michelob ultra this is pretty much as watery as they get. Mouthfeel is virtually non existent besides a slight stickiness.

The abv is 2.8! Thats not beer! This should at least be refreshing but its not.

Thin, weak corn water.

Ok, I am reviewing this on the STYLE (mega, uber ultra light, mass produced beer). Please factor that into your assessment of me as a human being.

A - when poured into my pilsner glass, there was actually a decent head with a little lacing! I couldn't believe this beer would lace at all. In every other way, this is what the boys at stone brewery would call a "yellow, fizzy beer".

S - Adjunct grains. Corn. Not very nice. Nothing resembling complexity.

T - Believe it or not, I didn't mind the flavor of this beer. There's a lot of cooked corn flavor, but there is just a tiny bit of hop character. Interesting. A lot more than I was expecting from a light beer, much less one with only 64 calories.

M - It is what it is. Light light light.

D - This is a very drinkable beer. it was designed to be a refreshing, non-intimidating beer. There are those who will be offended by this flavor. I don't mind it. I guess I am one of the few people that can appreciate a super cheap, light, mass produced macro, as well as something like Ruination, or Old Rasputin.

Pours a straw-gold color with a one-finger head into my pint glass.

Aroma is sweet and full of corn/grainy malt. Not much else to detect in the head.

Taste is full of corn, grainy malt and a bit of sweetness. Watery and a bit too smooth.

Ditto on mouthfeel. Not much difference here. Light on flavor and quite similar to seltzer water.

Well, this is light but I'm trying to figure out where the beer part went. Better to review it just to remind you of what good beer tastes like.

This one is the new 64 calorie light beer that MGD puts out. It's kind of scary when a beer company's advertisements' primary selling point is that it is low-cal, instead of saying that it tastes good or it's refreshing or whatever, like every other beer ad does.

The closest beer to MGD 64 tastewise may be Grain Belt, though I hate to cut down Grain Belt like that, because Grain Belt isn't nearly as bad. MGD 64 has almost a soapy finish to it, which obviously is not a good quality for beer.

64 calories for every MGD 64 you drink. Or 0 calories for all the MGD 64's you don't drink. If you're drinking a beer solely because it only has 64 calories, just don't drink beer then. If you want a real beer, try something else. Beer bellies are sexy anyways.

Ah, a new classic... mega-bubbly, thinly yellow body that reminds me of liquid corn... head dissolves to soapsuds almost immediately... malty, almost with the sweetness of malt liquor--lacking in substance... thin, fuzzy palate... approximates water in its consistency--drinkable, yes.... watery cornflake and thinning malt leaves the tastebudswanting of flavor... MGD brags of its 64 calories--and rightfully so--but that would be the ONLY benefit to fisting this thin, whistle-wetting too-easy-drinking lawn mower companion... this review could be subttitled "Ballad of a Thin Beer," in honor of Bob....

Presentation: 12oz clear bottle with twist off cap (why do they still insist on putting beer in clear bottles?!)

Appearance: Bright light gold beer with very high carbonation; a decent pour actually produces a snow white cap with a bit of staying power

Smell: Kinda funky...weird sweet, almost sugary tones...just a ghost of graininess, maybe even malt in the background

Taste: VERY light corn/grainy taste...bit of residual sweetness, a bit too sweet for me...not much going on here, but that's to be expected...that being said, there's nothing really offensive here

Mouthfeel: Light as a feather

Drinkabilty: Water-esque

Conclusion: Here's the thing...this is not a beer I would typically ever drink...but that being said, the 64 calories that are in this when you want something other than soda to wash down a meal and (like me) you're trying to lose weight, have to be taken into account. I'll keep my Belgian Strong Darks and my English Bitters, but once in the while this mite work...it's got half the calories of normal beer (and yes, half the alc) but there's really nothing repugnant here...there's just nothing much there period

Comes out of the tap a typical clear straw-yellow, but it does at least have a fine-bubbled head. Aroma is weak, though crisp and malty - not at all promising. Flavor is very thin, like beer that has been cut with water. Texture is so watery, one might as well be drinking water - there is just a teeny bit of tingle, not near enough to feel like beer. Fuhgeddaboutit.

When you try these low calorie beers, what else can you possibly expect? It is what it is, and you can't expect anything more. It's as watery as anyone would expect but the good news is that you can look like a superhero after you slam down about 15 of these in 2 hours.

I dont know why people give this such a low rating!!!
Yes, it is soooo light you can use it as a tourch but that is the whole IDEA of a diet beer with next to no calories.

for what its trying to be, its spot on, a beer you can drink with dinner instead of a soda and still save room on your beer gutt's ring-o-round the handles!

Ok it sucks!!! but I feel better giving this beer its props for being exactly what I thought it would be....light and bubbly, just the way I like my strippers!

Miller's Genuine Draft 64 looks like a standard American light lager with a crystal-clear straw-gold body and a bright-white head. The thin, creamy head drops shortly but maintains a solid surface covering. Surprisingly for a light beer, it has some very good lacing.

The aroma is limited, barely offering a generic beer aroma.

The flavor follows the aroma, and although there's a minor bit of malt smudged with hop flavor, it's really the mild hint of bitterness that lets you know it's beer you're drinking. Still, the minor hops that are there tend to stick around a bit in the finish, and there's even a minor resemblance of something once malty there as well.

As might be expected, the body is paper-thin and crisp with carbonation.

I'd originally avoided this beer because I couldn't put 2 and 2 together to make 4. Alcohol contains 7 calories per gram, which is approximately 150 calories per ounce. MGD Light 64 has less than half of that. The rest of the calories in beer (or any other alcoholic drink, with vodka being the leanest) is made up of carbs (residual sugars... flavor!). MGD Light 64 has only 2.4 carbs, which is .2 carbs less than Michelob Ultra, which barely tastes like beer. So, what it all adds up to is...

30% less calories.
30% less alcohol (2.8% abv).
30% less flavor.
10% less drinkability.

Bought for a neighbor who likes light beer - I took one, so she got a five-pack...

Pours very clear straw yellow with a thin white had that has some retention. A bit of lacing sticks - not much. Although the head eventually disappears, head not bad for style. Color is light, even for style, evening things out.

The smell is of - generic beer? Some graininess. Faint something "beerish". Nothing particularly "off".

Taste is of seltzer with enough "beer" something. Slight grain - touch of slight bitterness so I guess there might be a non-descript hop presence somewhere.

It is light and fizzy.

I was able to finish it. But, I was thirsty, and could finish seltzer water, I guess. There is something "beer-ish". Better than some other light beers. Not as good as Sam Adams light, as it lacks character and is just vaguely "beer". Pretty "inoffensive", but boring. Actually - I found it less offensive and easier to drink than the regular MGD.

Excessively pale gold, little head.

Aroma is sharply metallic with just a hint of grain.

Taste: seltzer water with a splash of MGD. It's not *bad* compared to some other light macros, but it's incredibly watery and thin.

Drinkability is average for the style -- no off flavors, and not much flavor at all.

Very little head. High level of carbonation. Clear yellow color, brighter even than many other light beers. What smell there is, is very metallic with only a hint of natural beeriness.

Tastes okay though. Extremely light and easy to drink. Enough generic hoppy/malty flavors to qualify as a beer. I was expecting much worse.

Mouthfeel is what you'd expect, loads of carbonation and quite watery.

Overall though, a good choice for a light beer. Would rather have this than Bud Light or Coors Light, for instance.

As a matter of curiosity, I tried this while at the in-laws. Beer pours a very pale straw golden color with a wispy head. Not unpleasant to look at. The aroma is very light with a distinct cooked corn characteristic. Essentially void of flavor. What is present is generic malt and corn. A ghost of bitterness but practically none. Light on the palate. If you are into beer with flavor, I would not recommend this.

A - Two inches of bright white head that actually leaves a decent lacing at first. The body is transparent and a very light gold color.

S - Light and malty with a fruit punch hint.

T - Meek and disappointing water with malted grain flavor. There's a bitter tinge as well but it's not a good taste.

M - Cold and slightly coarse considering how watered down this sucker is.

~ For a cheap sessionable brew this is not the one. Go for a High Life Light instead.

Smell is not terrible. Very light grains.
Taste is of light grains, lighter malt, and a very slight bitterness, flash of lemon even.
Mouthfeel is light carbonated water.
Drinkability is pretty decent. I will say if you are watching your calorie intake, this may be the way to go. Actually one of Miller's better offerings.

12oz can poured into an american pint - Fridge temp - 2008

Appearance: Pours a very clear, transparent light urine color with a 3" tall, foamy white head. The retention is excellent and the beer leaves lots of sticky lace on the glass. Some bubbles actively move to the surface of the beer.

Smell: Like a typical macro lager, but lighter. Extremely faint malt and hop aromas are entangled with a metallic odor. I must concede that it does smell refreshing.

Taste: This beer is quite flavorless. Again, there is a little bit of pale malt and a faint hop flavor, but metal might be the strongest flavor of them all. It might be the closest beer cousin to tonic water.

Mouthfeel: Active and light bodied. This beer could be quite refreshing if you don't mind the complete lack of flavor. Alcohol is undetermined and unoticable.

Drinkability: For me, low calorie, low alcohol, low flavor beers aren't drinkable. Why even bother? It did help wash down some home-made chex mix pretty quickly. Not worth buying.
