I got this because of the name, as I had been planning to do my 800th review on it. I fully expected to drain-pour it following a scathing review. Ah, the best-laid plans, etc., etc. This turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. Poured cold from a 42-ounce plastic bottle into a Miller Lite Taste Activator Glass. Beautiful crystal-clear golden-colored body, with a three-finger snow-white head that lingered on and on, leaving sheets of lacing. Aromas and flavors of corn, grain, and grass, with notes of tart Granny Smith apple and a slightly floral and herbal undertone. I was expecting a lot of sweetness, which surprisingly never materialized. There is a bit of sweet and tart fruit lingering on the finish, which is mostly dry. For anyone in search of "beer that tastes like beer," look no further. Best of all, it's cheap!

This score is adjusted to account for the price point and style.

I will be returning to this one to review it more thoroughly as I've about finished this can. Purchased and consumed it as a curiosity, and I wasn't disappointed in it.

L: Metal can.
S: Corn, malt. Copper?
T: Not particularly sweet to me, though I can understand the responses from those that might be less 'tolerant' of residual sugar - sugar cookies, caramel, I can definitely perceive that. But for me, it's not sweet enough to be shouting these notes. I taste corn, cracker, sweet bread. It's not offensive, and surprisingly, does not taste of ethanol, to me.
F: Heavy, a bit syrupy, lower carbonation. Fits in with what you might expect from a strong ale.

O: Knocks a few brews such as Steel Reserve right out of the water. Absolutely choose this, over that, in my opinion. This beer is not offensive to me, in contrast to some other high gravity low cost beers. In the right circumstance, I'd describe it as pleasant. Makes the head heavy, as it is intended.

I believe this was around 1.50$ for a can that's a pint and a half. If you don't mind waking up dehydrated, I would absolutely revert to this one over others at the gas station - or wherever you find yourself.

I expected better, this one ranks right at the poor level of 2. Clear golden pour with a full head. Tastes like a malt liquor at first and then you're hit by some sort of metallic element that remains through the aftertaste. If it wasn't for that, the beer would rate much higher

Really bad. If you need to get drunk get a steel reserve and make it ice cold.

Drank from a plastic 42 ounce bottle. Scores are based on the style.

Look - The label looks outdated but weirdly endearing. It's bombastic nature draws your eye as it sits in the cooler. The clear amber liquid entices and encourages a night of bad decisions. This is the face of the end times.

Smell - Very sweet corn and a bombardment of booze assail the nostrils. It's familiar but not all too pleasant. I know what I'm getting in to.

Taste - Sweet but not too overpowering. Like sugar cookies and caramel. Not entirely repulsive. I can sense the impending morning after.

Feel - Surprisingly low carbonation, but a very thick syrupy body. Not all that pleasant or easy to drink, but it won't kill me. Hopefully.

Overall - A strange brew. It can't find a middle ground, but rather oscillates between extremes. Neither good nor bad, I can't pin it down. Better than it's lower gravity brother, but that's not saying much. This boy serves as a sledgehammer to the brain, and at that, it very much exceeds.

Poured from a 24 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear golden yellow color with a small white head. The aro.a is grain and alcohol. The taste is bland and slightly creamy. This is a "gas station beer" . it's not the worst of its kind but it is completely forgettable.

Awful. Slightly worse than ordinary OE 800. Unless I'm just wanting to get drunk really quick, and can't stomach the notion of cheap fortified wine, I steer clear of this one.

24 oz. can:

Pours golden with a foamy head that descends, leaving broken rings of lacing.

The smell is pretty much typical malt liquor. Decent for the style. Some alcohol. Clean.

The taste is of alcohol, sweet corn. A tannic-like dryness in the finish.

Smooth for the style. Alcohol is not harsh. Some malt smoothness closer to a strong lager than a traditional cheap malt liquor.

Drinkable for the style and abv. Scored in style, it's a decent cheap brew. Not as thick or syrupy as the original. I like this one better.

24 oz can. Wow, I’m surprised this got even this high. I was expecting bottom of the barrel stuff, but it’s not as bad as some other beers I’ve so far rated. Actually poured a nice head. Aroma is of corn. Tastes metallic. All in all, pretty horrible, but not as bad as I was expecting. Now, where’s my paper bag?

Look: Two finger white head, clear yellow body.

Smell: See below.

Taste: Grains mostly, some mild corn.

Feel: Medium carbonation and body, some sweetness upfront and in the finish. Really smooth.
