I like to use the correct glassware for the style -- the correct glass for a 40 oz. is the glass it comes in, of course! Drank this guy cold out of the bottle.
Poured a little in a champagne flute to look at it, the green bottle makes it hard to judge appearance. Clear, not even that yellow, decent head though for a malt liquor. Can't believe I just did that... what did I think I would see.
Smells a little like sewage. Very dry for a malt liquor, no sweetness on the smell. Grains, vegetables like brussel sprouts, adjuncts, some alcohol which is surprising at the low ABV.
Sweeter taste than the smell indicated. Tastes like grains, a little bit of unpleasant mustiness but could be much worse. Faint macro-euro hop taste. Very smooth finish, no yucky face for me.
Smooth mouthfeel, this is pretty undercarbonated which makes it go down fast when it's cold but I worry that it'll fail to cover up any grossness that pokes through as it warms. Slightly creamy, really very nice though.
Goes down very smoothly, quite drinkable. Loses some drinkability points for the price (not much higher than Hurricane or Magnum, but when I'm buying 40s every penny counts) and for the low-ish ABV, the other reason I drink malt liquor. Still, if you ice this, it goes down FAST -- in a contest, I watched two guys drink three 40s of this in under 7 minutes and they kept it down fine. Recommended, and just as good or better than bad macro lagers (Milwaukee's Best, etc.).

A-Apple juice gold body. Not as clear and transparent as I thought this would be. A nice chill-haze gives the body a misty look. Rotating the glass one can see glossy traits as well. When held to light the brew becomes bright banana yellow, like Duvel almost. Cloud white two finger head is surprising, thought there would be none. Spotty lacing is shocking as well.
S-Apple skins. Perfume-y, like a lilac. Some grape skins.
T-Corn. Slight sour aftertaste like apple juice. The most anemic bitters are detectable as well. Nothing else really.
M-Low full body. Not watery, a dash creamy. Low full/low high carbonation. Slightly spritz-y. This beer isn't thin nor flat, just too weak in feel. Hardly any bitter and/or sour tastes to speak of in the start, middle and finish.
O-A refreshing malt liquor with enough booze packed in at 5.6%. Purchase level is on a blue moon basis, once a year if that. Beer that can't be paired with food and isn't interesting or tasty enough to sit down and consume on its own. Just chug it away.
