The beer is hazy brass colored, a white head leaving much lacing.

The aromas are citric, bitter oranges mostly, some grass (or weed) tones.

An initial sweetness, biscuits and brown sugar, a lime-like sourness with a zesty bitterness.

Medium carbonation, a bit bland but with a dry finish.

Some ups and downs, in general rather average but hard to fall in love with.

Aug. 2005: 500 ml bottle. Golden colour, slightly hazy. Decent white head. Lager-like aroma with notes of flowers, hay and honey. Flavour is sourish and thin with some citussy notes. Short sourish aftertaste with metallic notes. Disappointing.

Had Wisby Klosteröl in June 2017 aboard the SF700, the Destination Gotland ferry from Nynäshamn to Visby, poured from 33-CL. bottle into clear plastic beer cup, and again a couple of days later at Brygghuset Bar & Kök, Visby, on draft into large (1/2-liter?) mug.

This is a beautiful beer, orange-gold with a decent head and excellent lace. The aroma was so mild as to be negligible. It picks back up drinking: solid carbonation leads to dry caramel malt, spicy Belgian yeast, and a rather slick finish. I enjoyed Wisby Klosteröl more than most, it seems; maybe it tastes better near the brewery?

Nice looking amber golden yellow color with a fluffy white head that eventually disappeared. Hazy and translucent. Some streams of carbonation rising from the top.

A very mild beer on the nose and palate. Aroma is hints of earthy and herbal hops. The flavor is much the same.

Nice feel with crisp carbonation.

A pale ale that really just lacks anything worth revisiting.

hazy dark golden color with beige head. Aroma has sweet malt, a bit of sugar and honey and also some floral yeast notes. Taste is more yeast forward with floral and grassy notes. Really balanced overall, sweet at first but quite bitter and hoppy on the finish. Medium, smooth mouthfeel. Not you typical belgian ale. The yeast profile is classic but the mouthfeel and hoppy finish is a more modern approach on the style.
