Stopped by here completing my tri-fecta (TDR, Ron's) of Exton beer stops. I was the only one in the place, but the guy behind the counter did little more than nod in my direction as I entered.

This place has a pretty darn good selection. You can find almost anything PA has available. The prices are clearly marked with the Brewer's name and specific beer. I would say their strong suit is domestic craft beer. They had some imports, but I have seen better in the area. The highlight was a case of Nemesis...if I only had an extra $110 sitting around!

This is definitely one of "the" places to visit if in the neighborhood and looking for craft beer.

The selection is pretty amazing given what most beer distributors offer.

The staff know what they are doing and are helpful.

While it's a pretty standard "warehouse" type place that's pretty common in PA.

This is an overall pretty average case shop. A good selection of standard US craft beers--DFH, Yards, Firestone, Jolly Pumpkin, etc.--and regularly seen imports. Their website lists some more uncommon items, like Parabola and the like, but it's probably just a matter of being there at the right time to get those items. No comment on the service really, because I've never had anyone approach me in the store to ask if I need help. Not that I did need help, but it's just common courtesy. Prices seemed about right. One qualm I have is that the store is open to the elements, and un-air-conditioned, so in the heat of summer, all those beers are cooking, and I don't know if I'd want a case of IPA that's been sitting around in 90+ heat for however many days.

I very rarely make my way out to this place, but if you're in the area, I suppose it's worth keeping an eye on.

Huge selection of all available beers distributed in Pennsylvania. Easy to find off Rt. 30, grab and go from a large parking area. Employees will dolly out your cases and help you load the wagon. always nice.
Good staff, decent prices, and I'll stop again when I'm in the area.

This is one of the larger beer distributers in the suburbs.

The parking lot is big. Once you walk in there are no lie about a thousand cases of beer arranged nicely in aisles.

This place stocks almost every brand/brewery that is available in Pennsylvania, Bells, Founders, Russian River and some more obscure hard to find stuff. Honestly if you can't find a beer in stock they will order it in for you.

The staff is straight forward and honest. Every time I have called to inquire about what they have in stock they have been truthful unlike many other distributers in the area.

The only downside is the place is an oven in the summer. The temperature in the store regularly exceeds 90 degrees and I'd wager that the stuff sitting on the top of the shelves is closer to 100 degrees. So be weary about older stock in the fall.

Other than that this place is legit.

This is my go-to spot. The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. Their craft aisle is amazing with just about every domestic micro of note represented. They also have some very nice imports that I have yet to see anywhere else. If they don't have something, every attempt will be made to order it for you.

As a bonus, they keep the stock as fresh as possible so often times there will be "clearance" cases and you can find some real steals. Over Christmas I paid $14 for a case of Gamma Ray.

One of the best places to buy beer in PA.

A: After reading about this place I was finally in the area and had the chance to stop in. The atmosphere is pretty dang nice. Lots of cases, lots of cases. One thing that did stand out, the wonderful smell of cigars; loved it!

Q: Nice wide isles. To a XXL, I can't stress how much I appreiate this. Lots of parking as well.

Ser: No one really approched/bothered me while I was perusing the isles. They kinda waited for me to get finished, and then they talked beer with me for a good bit. I was on my lunch break, or I'm sure they would have been happy to spend a little longer 'just talking beer'.

Sel: I have never ssen cases of Russian River, Cascade, World Wide Stout. They have the best selection, I've ever seen, in cases. In fact, I landed a case of Stone IRS 2011, which I have been looking for just a bottle of.

V: Fan-damn-tastic!

More than glad I stopped in!

I'm spoiled to live within 10 minutes of this place. On 3 occasions (most recently last Friday) I've gone in for Consecration and they have had cases there for me each time. This past time was the 1st time they didn't have it on display but after I asked, they went into the back and found a case.

The selection is great. Stone, Russian River, Port, Bells, Founders, etc. Everything is well marked so I don't have to ask how much everything is. I will say that Beer Yard has even more variety but they are in an entirely different class.

The employees there aren't geeks but they deal with enough of them to know how to serve them. I've never gotten bad service there.

I visited Exton Beverage today for the first time. I was extremely impressed with the selection. Hard to find items....in stock. I had a list of 15 brews that I was interested in and they had all but one.
The prices were a bit higher than I usually pay for my "regular" choices but I'd gladly pay a little more to know I can get the "specialties" at any time. The only negative was the service. The staff seemed knowledgeable when I asked them questions, but I was in the building for over an hour and no one asked if I needed help. Fortunately, I had my smart phone and could get reviews and info from B.A. on products I had never heard of before. Overall, I would recommend Exton to meet most of your needs.

The beverage center in Exton is about as good a place for cases as I have discovered in Pennsylvania. The store is open and airy much like a Sam’s Club for beer. What distinguishes Exton from all others I have been to is the sheer variety. Outside of just macro beer, this place really seems to have every beer they can get their paws on. I was really impressed with their selection of Troeg’s, Bells, Great Lakes and several others. The workers were also friendly. I went in to bring back a case for a friend. Not realizing the many varieties Yuengling had, I was kinda lost. The worker explained what each was and led me to what my friend was probably looking for. Helpful, but not intrusive. I will probably never get a case for any other purpose as it would most likely take me a couple months to drink that much. However, if I were looking for cases in the area this would be the first beverage center I would go to.

Place has a great selection. Being in the area for the weekend I wanted to get something I can't get at home in MD and they had cases of Founders/Bells/Ithaca/CigarCity/etc/etc that I wish I could get at home.
Definitely on my must stop list while visiting the inlaws, from Nov>April that is. It was HOT in there yesterday. Serious hot, which is tough to fight I understand when it's been almost a 100* for a week.
They do have a cold room with a fair amount of choices I gotta say, but it just mad me crazy to think about all that great beer getting cooked.
Will be back this fall.

I actually stopped in by accident--it was the first place that came up when i googled beer/exton. it is conveniently located right off of routes 100 and 30. Plenty of parking in a square grey box of a building.

Great selection of american crafts, with a small selection of internationals.

Service was cordial and pointed me in the direction of a quality singles joint (ron's).

The only real knock, besides the focus on national brands, would be that they have only cases. They had a stout collection of sixtels. I liked the selection and would have bought, but i really was in town for a week and wanted to try a selection of brews we can't get in baltimore. From that perspective, i liked Ron's much better.

Overall quality and selection makes it a worthwhile trip. Years ago, Exton Bev Center was a staple for my beer shopping, however two incidents have shown me the reasons to never step foot in the place again (which is a shame since it's only 10 minutes from the house).

A little more than a year ago, I stopped in one quiet evening to pick up an interesting German import. Don't remember what it was exactly, but I took it to the counter to pay and was told the price was $10 more than the sign indicated. I pointed out the discrepancy and the manager? checked the sign and the price, then told me the sign was wrong the price was the price. I was on the way to a get together so I begrudgingly paid the new price (>$50) and went on my way. I vowed never to shop there again.

Today, more than a year later and now drinking keg beer, I stopped by again, due to their excellent selection, I thought another chance might be in order. Until the cashier didn't recognize the keg I brought in and indicated that it didn't qualify for the normal deposit. The keg wasn't beat up, just different. If you've seen an Erdinger Dunkel keg, you'd know why. When I questioned the clerk, I pretty much got a whatever, do I really care look. There ended my shopping experience. It was only a little thing, but to me it mattered.

Guess business is good and customer service isn't necessary. A great selection at reasonable prices only goes so far. Very disappointed.

Stopped here for one reason only, they have the best Sixtel Keg selection that is within a 3 hours radius of me.

Stopped on a Saturday morning around 10AM. Place was jumping for this early in the morning. I am not just talking your raging alcoholics looking to buy their first case of the day Milwaukee's Best; there were Craft beer buyers as well.

Atmosphere: Smaller inside than it appears from the outside. Cases were neatly displayed with prices clearly marked. Some cases had descriptions next to them as well.

Selection: Well, easily the best Keg Selection that I have ever seen and the reason I drove 3 hours to get here. Too many to list here as the selection constantly changes. I noticed that they carry almost all of Penn Brewing Beers in Sixtel's. This is very irritating to me as I live close to Pittsburgh and the only Sixtel's of Penn I can get are the Hefe and Pilsner. I know that it is contract brewed in Wilkes Barre but that is no excuse that we cannot get all of Penn's products in Pittsburgh when this where they are headquartered. FFing irritating...

Service: Was good, the guys working there gave me some advice on local beers such as Philadelphia Brewing that I have never had before. Also, they just ran out of Victory's Sunrise Wheat that I really wanted. One of the guys called up another local distributor to see if they had it in stock and had them hold one for me.

Value: Kegs prices vary depending on what style you are looking for and if it is an in demand product.

Overall: I made the round trip 6 hour drive to get here because I cannot get this kind of selection in Pittsburgh. Don't know why we can't have a place like this in Pitt. Could it be that this part of the state controls a lot of what comes into PA to begin with and they will take care of the Philly Market before Pitt. Hmmm?

Overall, I love this place. I literally feel like a kid in a candy store everytime I go and it only gets better each time. They have a great selection, everything from cases of 40 oz's to Belgian's I've never seen before by the case. Ridiculous keg selection as well. I've been able to purchase just about every magic hat seasonal case, as well as a Sapporo, Strongbow, and the flying dog gonzo 8 oz mixed pack. Best of all, the staff is always quick to point you in the right direction or give you a recommendation on a particular beer type. They turned me on to Heavy Seas. I rest my case.

First off, I must applause any distributor that makes some kind of attempt at a website. Sure, Exton Bev's site might not be winning any awards for design or functionality, but they make an effort, and it seems to be fairly updated.

Great list of micro kegs, 1/2, 1/4 and sixtel. Guys working there are extremely friendly as well.

Selection is above average for a good PA distributor. All the major are well represented, both East and West coast breweries. And the selection of offerings from each brewery is deep as well. They must have had in stock all the current offerings for Stone, DFH, Troegs, Flying Fish, Victory, as well as many options for west coasters like Green Flash, Great Divide, etc, etc.

This might be one of the few places that gets the odd case of Flower Power as well. I was sad to see the bottle on date of 3/17, however. This might be the one drawback. As big as they are and as much business as they do, you can tell a few cases have overstayed their welcome...

However, careful shopping can lead to a great beer haul here.

My sixtel store - they keep a bunch in tap, update their web site list every Friday - can't ask much more. Good case selection, I have enjoyed cases of stille nacht and Rodenbach Grand Cru from there. Needless to say, a good selection of Belgians. Also a good selection of US Micros - mostly East Coast, as well as English, Germans, etc. Staff is helpful, but between the web site and the posted board of all the available kegs and prices they do not have too much to do. Great shop. If you get out to the ExtonDowningtown area (maybe a stop at Victory) swing by Exton Beverage and I am sure you will not be disappointed and will come home with a few cases in the car.

I even ended up picking out a few extra cases I wasn't planning on getting. The cases were priced right around what I expected to pay for them. I will certainly make EB a regular stop for my purchasing.

Definitely one of the best selections of sixtels in the area, if not the best.

Exton beverage is just across from the mall and is a stop for me whenever I visit the inlaws. looks like your average macro beer distributor, but has a pretty decent selection of micro and craft beers.

one long aisle of micro's and they also have a pretty nice keg selection. standard PA micro's plus some of the other greats. They also carry an ok selection of Belgian beers towards the back.

they also have tastings pretty often, which is nice.

still a drawback (not their fault) is the darn Pennsylvania law requiring one to buy a full case.

The shop has one long aisle of craft beer, mostly good domestic crafts with some Belgians and Unibroue as well. I have had particular good luck finding cases of Port/Lost Abbey here (Serpents' Stout, Moon Lit Sessions), more than anywhere I go except Shangy's. Lots of Founders beers and many other national brands. Also plenty of Weyerbacher seasonals and one-time releases. Two taps for sampling are usually hooked up too.

Service is helpful and friendly. Prices are reasonable.

I live roughly equidistant to this place and the Beer Yard, I don't think my location could get much better. The weekly updated sixtel website is by far the best feature of Exton beverage, I don't know why other places don't do this, or even come close to the way they do it here.

They are also way far ahead of most PA distributors with the keg deposit/customer record keeping, I have never had a dispute on if I paid a deposit or how much was paid. The selection is excellent, all of the local beers are here (Sly Fox, Victory, and the one offs of Sly Fox and Victory, etc) and they get their share of good mid-west micros(Bells, Founders). If they don't have something, just call and they will get it if it is available in PA. The prices are a bit lower for sixtels than other places and the case prices are about the same, all controlled for your enjoyment by the PLCB.

What can I say about Exton and it's owner Greg. In the short time I have been dealing with him and Exton, they have become my main source for beer. What a great place to buy beer at reasonable prices.

Selection of micro and crafts is well above average than other places. Hard to find stuff is stocked as well as everything local. Just to list a few that are constantly on hand (exluding the favorite PA local breweries) are Sierra Nevada, Stone, Bells, Magic Hat, Southern Tier, Brooklyn, Bear Republic (new to area), Smuttynose, Avery, DFH and many others. I just can't remember them all. If Greg does not stock it, just ask and if he can get it he will.

His selection of sixtels is excellent and of course he will order anything he can get if not stocked.

Greg the owner is a friendly, helpful beer lover. He works hard to stock his store with the best crafts he can get, local and non-local, and keeps the prices average for the area. Plus Exton has an impressive selection of sixtels, which is pretty rare for your average suburban distributor, and an impressive website. The rest of his staff are also pretty professional and knowledgeable about beer.

Exton is now sort-of a high end area, with the ugly "Main St." and the upscaled Exton Mall, but your options to buy crafts in the West Chester/Exton area are still pretty limited to here and the Beermill in WC boro if you want to buy a case. Exton has a better selection with lower prices.

They did have a deep selection of the non-local, not widely distributed breweries but the beers they had were quality. I am not a big fan of imports so I did not evaluate their selection of Belgians, etc. The service asked me twice if I needed help b/c I was perusing the selection which shows they cared. Hope this is helpful.

EDIT
Last time I was at Exton Beverage Center I was looking for variety packs. I was very disappointed. The selection seemed less than the fist time I was there and the had some strange options in cases when some of the more popular local micros were not available. Anyway, I am still a believer but the next time I am going to call and make sure they have what I'm looking for before I drive down, as it would appear their selection varies.

Good selection for the price in the Philly suburbs area. Picked up a case of Ommegang, Victory Storm King, and Stegmaier variety in the wood box. Only Beeryard has a better selection but is way more pricey. Allagash, Stone, Bell's, Ommegang, Magic Hat, Pyramid, Brooklyn, as well as the imports were all well represented. They even had a corner devoted to the Belgium's...I drooled over a case of Gouden Cuvée Van De Keizer for a bit.
They are near Victory, so their prices very good in that dept.
The staff seemed very helpful and knowledgable and readily answered my questions. My price baseline is Shangy's, that's why it gets the $$$.
