Fairly roasty, with a vinous note mid palate that lingers into the finish. Possibly a sign of infection. Hints of chocolate, but that oxidation/infection kills it.

Pitch black color with a thick caramel head with eternal retention and leaving laces.
Aroma with predominant notes of vanilla chocolate, mild cocoa, nutmeg, a bit of plums and licorice.
Flavor with notes of cola, lots of cocoa, licorice, homemade coffee, dark fruits, citrusy hops, mild pine, nutmeg, lactic acid and brown sugar cane. Dry aftertaste with perseverant roasted notes and a rounded bitterness that feels lower than its 70 IBUs.
Bordering liquorish full body with appropriate carbonation and slightly sticky. Alcohol of 8.5% abv is absent.
Tasty and pleasant to drink Imperial Stout full of vanilla, licorice and cocoa notes. Roasted notes and hops have counterbalanced its residual sugarness in the backgroud. Worth trying.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, no bottle dating. Pours pitch black color with a small dark tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, toast, toffee, molasses, dark bread, light coffee, raisin, prune, and roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of dark/roasted malt notes with light fruitiness; and solid strength. Taste of dark chocolate, cocoa, roasted malt, toast, toffee, molasses, dark bread, raisin, prune, light coffee, and roasted earthiness. Light roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, toast, toffee, molasses, dark bread, light coffee, dark fruit, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt flavors with light fruitiness; and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a creamy, slick, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good and unique imperial stout. Good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.
