Notes/Commercial Description:
Hoptimistic IPA (India Pale Ale) has intense hop bitterness and flavor. This ale is further characterized by fruity, floral and citrus-like aromas due to American-variety hops. This copper/orange hued ale has a nicely balanced medium maltiness which contributes to a medium body that goes down easy, leaving a lingering bitterness that is hard to resist.

Orangish brown with yeast flakes and somewhat hazy. Descent head on the pour and nearly coates the glass with lacing.

Smell of pine sol with a floral hop character.

Solid malt flavor suggesting rye bread. Spicy hops reminiscent of pine and grapefruit. Descent balance.

Medium bodied. Snappy carbonation. Dry feel with a yeasty texture.

Pretty good IPA.

22oz brown bomber with no freshness date.

Brassy golden color, clarity is fine as well as the sticky lacing on the glass. Wild flowers, citric zest and some vague pine sap in the nose. Smooth medium body, not so hop forward as expected though a thick layer of flavor does get dropped on the palate. Bitterness is thin but sharp, tangerine and blond tobacco flavors ensue. Wavering malt base that has a quick biscuity and toffee flavor. Berry fruitiness within. Dry chalky yeast, husky malt and a lingering hop bitterness in the finish.

A very interesting IPA to say the least, some balance is needed ... a bit more body/maltiness with a more assertive hopiness would do this beer a bit of good. Not bad though.

Picked up a bottle in Springdale, AR. This my first sample from this brewery...

Pours an effervescent amber with 3 fingers of cream colored head. Average lacing & head retention

S: Lemons & grassy notes, plus a bit of caramel, all fairly muted

T: Grassy & herbal hops up front, some mineral notes as well, just a touch of breadyness & whisper of butterscotch. Earthy hop bitterness dominates as this warms, along with some grainy bread notes, flinty dryness & a touch of pine & grapefruit as well. Finishes with herbal hops, a touch of honey & apricot, plus dryness & woody hops showing up at the end

MF: Medium bodied, firm carbonation. Body thins out a bit as this warms, pretty good balance

Drinks alright, not a great IPA, but wouldn't turn one down if offered one...

Poured from 22 ounce bottle
A. Poured a large, long lasting head. Color - dark straw almost golden, rather cloudy difficult to see through.
S. No overpowering hops on the smell, rather a nice combination of floral almost fruity scents came through. Very pleasant.
T. Smooth, almost had a slight smokiness to it. Some earthy tones, nice typical long bitter finish.
D. Typical American IPA taste and finish. I enjoyed this brew. I could easily drink a couple of large bottles of these.

Pours out to a thin head that lasts and some lacing. Color is orange amber and cloudy/chunky. Aroma is US hop-dominant, which smells nice...but also smells of bread yeast and burnt plastic (phenolic?). Flavor is a muted version of USA-style IPA with lower levels of perceived bitterness and not much of a malt backbone. Thin Mouthfeel. This is certainly drinkable but commercially it is very much marginal and not worth pursuing.

Saturated dark orange, slightly hazy and glowing in the light. Slim layer of white foam that sticks around, remaining as a wisp of broken skim on the surface.

Mellow aromas of tea, citrus rind, and toasted biscuits.

Grassy and citrusy flavors, somewhat soft in feel and easy going. Malt presence matches the hop content, lending toasty biscuit flavors and minor caramel sweetness also. Sort of a low key IPA. Figuring this is fresh as it just arrived in the state (central IL). It's decent, but there's not much to distinguish it from other IPAs on the market.

- Bronze to copper color
- Foam is light but stays for a long time
- Fresh smell of aroma hops but not overwhelming
- Steady and long lasting bitterness taste
- High drinkability

A very pleasant IPA which is focuse more on drinkability than on high hop taste. More flavorful than Long Hammer which also is an IPA with high drinkability. I would love to drink this beer for a whole night. I only had 1 pint bottle.

Transluscent, strawberry apricot color with a creamy sand colored head that leaves scraps of lace on the glass. Mild passion fruit, strawberry and caramel in the aroma. Fruit juicy hop flavor with mild bitterness and sweet caramel maltiness. Thin bodied and mildly carbonated. A mediocre example of the style but not terrible by any means.

A- Hazy orange with a fluffy two finger head which leaves thick lacing.

S- Grapefruit, orange peel, bready malt, pine, grass and floral notes. Pretty faint smell with nothing sticking out too much.

T- Some citrus hops with grapefruit and orange notes as well pineapple upfront followed by sweet caramel malt.

M- Medium carbonation and body. Crisp mouthfeel and finishes slightly dry. High drinkability.

O- Tasted more like an APA to me, but was still a nice session beer. I had a few pint glasses of this at a friends house who got a keg for the holiday weekend.

As usual this beer is pretty good. I have not been disappointed by anything out of this brewery/winery yet. It has bronze colored body and an off-white almost tan head with some very nice lace. It smells hoppy and floral with a touch of malt. The taste is also floral with a pollen like flavor there are some strong grapefruit esters. It is not harsh at all but bitter. It has mellow thin almost medium body with just a little bite.
