22 oz bomber, snifter

A – Very deep brown, nearing black. About a quarter-inch of tan head, bubbly, with moderate retention.

S – Definitely chocolate, and some darker pitted fruit, like plum or perhaps like currant. Chocolate is like cocoa nibs or powder. Also some estery components, pear or apple, perhaps from the alcohol. Hops are not apparent. Perhaps the lightest tinge of peppery, yeasty spice.

T – A bomb of chocolate, heavy on cocoa nibs, a bit of milky-dark, creamy flavor. A touch of vanilla. The fruitiness translates to the flavor, but is very low. No hop flavor. No spiciness like there is on the nose.

M – Medium to thin body, with moderate-low carbonation. Moderate levels of residual sweetness, with some mild bitterness on the finish. Not dry at all, and the alcohol is well-hidden.

O – The chocolate is well done, but not sure this beer meets the definition of a quad. Tasty, but ultimately not satisfying.

On tap at a new joint in Arkansas. This is a straight up chocolate truffle. Sweet and chocolatey. Doesn't disappoint-hits the name straight on. Well done.

A Quad? Seriously? I'm not arguing, I'm just saying this tastes nothing like any other quad I've encountered, and that's totally fine by me. I'd have thought porter or stout judging by the flavors, which are amazing.

Pours a smooth chocolate brown with minimal head. Completely opaque. No lacing on the glass when swirled.

Aroma is sweet milk chocolate. Some cocoa powder and caramel. Sweet heavy cream straight form the bulk tank on a dairy farm. A chocolate lovers delight.

Taste is like the aroma. Sweet milk chocolate. Vanilla, cream, molasses and caramel blend into a sweet chocolate milkshake. Some fruits on the back end. Ripe plum, figs, and dates. Hint of spice including cinnamon, nutmeg and gingerbread. Tastes linger on the tongue.

Thick, cream-like mouth feel. Almost no carbonation.

This beer is a chocolate lovers delight. Rich aroma and taste. Sweet without being cloying. Glad I have a second bottle to enjoy later.
