Poured a cloudy yellow/gold with good carbonation and big, lasting head on top of a spicy, peppery, cloe-like aroma. Also hints of citric hops and a touch of herbalness; also touches of light or tropical fruit along w/ sweetness. Body is the same as its light, spicy, has a mild candi sugar and fruit sweetness as a mild fruit (citric and tropical) taste. Well-carbonated with a touch of yeast so goes down easy but is crisp and retains a dry edge and finish to it thanks to minor herbal hops. A little too white-wine like for me as its more crisp than sweet and is rather light-bodied for a saison. Good beer but not my first choice.

Got this in a recent private import. 750ml bottle.

The color of this beer is pale yellow. Nice white foamy head thrones on top of it. Very good looking beer. The head seems to stick well to the glass.

The aroma is floral hops all the way with some citrus notes too. Some farmhouse typical aroma notes there too, funky. Highly carbonated on the looks and also in the mouth. Crisp, almost like champagne. Taste is dominated by citrus notes. Very dry on the finish. Very refreshing. Thin bodied.

The last glass is veiled with all the yeast coming out. Lots of tropical fruits in the aroma now. And on the taste, it appears to be a little bit more bitter and aggressive.

A pretty decent beer and easy to drink. Overall, I really like this one and glad I had 4 other bottles in my fridge!

750ml brown bottle served into a Duvel Tulips.
Bottle says 7.5% ABV.

A - Pours a honey golden color with a massive rocky white head. Diligent retention with solid lacing.

S - Classic farmhouse aroma, tart apples, pears, stone fruit, lemon, damp wheat, subtle spice, bubblegum, earthy grass,

T - Spiced pears, tangy taffy, peaches, grassy and citrus hops are very prevalent and coat the palate with a peppery sensation. Honey kissed malt, damp wheat, earthy and musky. Finishes dry with a chalky yeast aftertaste.

M - Moderate soft carbonation, flowy feel, really carries the flavors across the palate.

This beer really transforms over a session. Sweet fruit when chilled but as it warms the musty and husky wheat grow adding an earthy twist with tart citrus coming out as well. Perfect carbonation. Has some funkiness on the aftertaste. Very interesting and would recommend for sure!

A-Crystal clear light golden ale with nice fizz and a decent, bright white cap that leaves nice lacing, but fades over time.

S-Barnyard funk all the way - awesome!

T-Very nice grassiness; dry with a citrus swing that makes for a splendid ale - yum. Became more complex as it warmed up, so give it a chance.

M-Soft with a nice creamy fizz, but not heavy in a distracting way, if that makes sense.

O-Very nice stuff and almost certainly food friendly, too. Worth seeking out. Note that the bottle will probably be wrapped in paper.

750 ml unwrapped bottle marked as 7.5% alc/vol.
Poured into a 22 ounce glass leaving the heavy sediment behind.
A - hazy straw color with two fingers of fizzy lacy head atop a continuous stream of fine bubbles.
S - grassy lemon zest and fruit esters with an earthy yeasty background.
T - zippy crisp saison bite that holds a great many flavors in a nice blend: grass, citrus, bread, light fruits, earthy peppery yeast, slight sour/tart yet sweet. Very nice.
M - medium bodied with fantastic carbonation and an easy feel that leaves just a lingering slightly dry tart behind.
D - hard to find the 7.5% alcohol but I'm sure it'll find me because this one is going down easy.
Easily among the finest of what I want from a Saison.

Poured from bottle with wrapper dated 1 5MEI 2010 to a NBB globe. The beer pours a hazy golden straw color with a billowing 4 finger bubbly white head. Decent retention and leaves gobs of lacing. The nose is light and crisp but also complex. Hints of pilsen malt base along with a tart fruity character. Sweet pear, apple, and a hint of citrus. No alcohol detected. Yeast is not overpowering in the least but rather brings everything together. Very nice. The Flavor builds upon the nose. Sweet with some tarty fruitiness and hint of sour tones. Begins crisp but ends smooth and creamy. Light and airy with a mild bitterness. Finishes with a slight lingering bitter with a fair amount of fruit on the tongue. Sweet but not overly so. Very approachable and drinkable. Lighter side of medium boded and well carbonated. Overall, this is a very good saison. Very drinkable. I had shed away from the price tag at $16.95/bottle but finally took the plunge. Glad I did. Excellent.

750 ml crown capped, paper wrapped bottle.

Appearance: Pale yellow with a slight haze. Huge white rocky head with great retention, ultimately leaves some floating piles of whipped cream. Sheets of sticky lacing. 4.5

Smell: Sweet pale malt, lemon, a little pepper and other spice, a hint of tartness. Spicy, herbal hops. Quite good. 4.5

Taste: Very hoppy with a snappy lemon flavor and some tartness. An almost clove like flavor near the end a long hops bitterness. There's enough sweetness from the malt and ester fruitiness to balance out the hoppiness. 4.5

Mouthfeel: Very soft and creamy feeling in the mouth, but the finish is clean, dry, and refreshing. 4.0

Overall: This is really a great saison. Highly hopped, but still loaded with complex saison aroma and flavor elements. Delicious. 4.5

Wow. Sooo nice. For me this was the best of 11 solid beers I tried today in a series of flights. I liked this one so much it was the only one I did a repeat on. I need to go back and have a full pint of it because I don't know what exactly I was tasting. It was sort of a honey taste but less syrupy and sticky than a honey taste. It was like honey more floral and focused than simply sweet. It was just delicious. If I could ask for anything it might be more of a back end, a little something more robust in the back of the throat to exhale through, but I'll take this any day. Beautiful to drink on a beautiful day.

Was this the winner of the night? I thought so.

L: trouble, whitebeer look, because of the wheat (?); good top;
S: you can keep on smelling this beer; it differs every time, flowery, orange, dried yellow fruit;
T: this is also an exploration; flowery, nice bitterishness;
M: just very nice, great alcohol and aftertaste;
O: almost perfect beer!

Picked this bottle up at State Line in Elkton, MD. Served in a Mikasa tulip.

Pours a nice straw color with a good white head and a bit of lacing. The nose carries some light lemon and citrus plus some hay and wheat. Faint earth and spice there, but not quite as much as the citrus component. Good wheat and some sight citrus in the flavor. Light body with good carbonation and a dry finish.
