I was happy to be able to check out the Sunset Grill & Tap w/ some friends while in Boston - this was our last stop of the night.
Atmosphere was good for my taste but a bit busy and more of a sports bar feel than beer bar IMO. They have lots of bottles displayed behind the bar and tap handles mounted near the entrance which is cool to look at and the place is pretty big inside too which is a plus.
The quality and selection are both top notch - the great variety of taps is amazing - local stuff to me(PA), local New England taps and rare beers like Angel's Share and really excellent stouts like Goose Island Bourbon County not to mention the huge bottle selection. The food looks very appetizing as I spied some huge nachos at the table next to ours and some meals being eaten on the way to the WC. I didn't try the food but I had some of the catered food at EBF from Sunset Grill so I know it is not shabby.
The Service was good, but for the amount of time between rounds it seemed like it could have been more attentive. The order was correct and the friendliness factor was pleasant -so definitely above average. The overall value was pretty hard to beat and I would definitely recommend the place since it is within walking distance of Deep Ellum and I had excellent drafts like Bruery's Mischief and Harpoon's 100 barrel series.
