This is probably the best place for value in the whole city. Singles selection is limited, and staff generally doesn't know much about beer. Selection in general is very broad, and as far as quality they do get some of the higher end releases, but they don't last long. If you want to load up on a broad variation of Great Lakes brews and don't mind missing a few rare releases, then this is your place. This place as well seems to have better distribution than the Appleton location down the freeway. There is a are better selections for high end beers in town, but with the selection and prices you can't go wrong here.

Its a very nice store, the have quite a bit of Wisconsin brews and US brews, quite a few import 6 packs, all in the fridge, and an aisle of import singles in the fridge. They also have a good selection of mini kegs. Has a slightly different selection than the Kenosha one that I usually frequent but nothing more. This one is nice in the fact it has a make your own 6 pack though the beers available for picking weren't the greatest, I bought the 6 best ones and def saved some money though. I think this Woodman's has a few more beers available singly than the Kenosha location.

There isnt much "service" but the cashier was friendly. You have to pay with cash/check/debit but its not an inconvieniece in my opinion.

This is biggest selection and best prices you will find in GB. It is in a giant grocery store, but the liquor/beer dept has it's own entry/exit. Great selection and great prices. Build YO six pack for $7.89 I believe. They could do a better job of rotating new entries in the BYO 6er selections, but it is a pretty big selection to begin with.

There is Chimay, and a few other Belgians, all the standard European stuff, but nothing too exotic. All the good regional breweries and some from east/west coast - Dogfish Head, SN and few others. FYI - no credit cards here - cash or debit card or check only.

Second beer store in the area, this Woodmans pretty similar to the Janesville store I was at earlier this year. A huge macro section, but with some nice mixer packs from some craft brewers. The craft section was decent, locals like NG, Sprecher, Lakefront, Capital, Slab City, etc get pretty good representation, a full spread of Ommagang, the standard Bells you see everywhere you see Bells, just a few from Founders, no 3Floyds, [no where this weekend in fact], Summit and Schell in good number, the import section small but some good ones in there.

Price was good as always at Woodmans, wanted to give it an inexpensive but for the $8 mixer sixer, thought that was a little overpriced. I got one those, cause I wanted a single of Dark Horse Crooked Tree IPA and Anchor Steam. NG Copper Kettle, Tyranena Stone Tepee, NS Unfiltered Wheat, and Capital Island Wheat filled out the 6'er. Service is busy stocking, as usual, pretty much they just work there. Eh, expected, I got there for price.

GB’s Woodman’s is on par with the Wooman’s in Kenosha and Janesville but definitely not up to speed with either of the Madison locations.

Selection is primarily 4/6 packs of common Midwest craft brews like Bell’s, Sprecher, New Glarus, etc… Sadly, you won’t find the New Glarus unplugged beers or many specialty seasonal beers from other breweries – at least that is what I’ve been told and what I’ve seen these past few weeks living in Green Bay. There is a decent selection of German half liters, a few Belgians including Lindeman’s Geuze, which I’ve never seen at any other Woodman’s before, and several great British beers from Fuller’s and the like. Singles selection consists of about 50-60 craft beers that can be mixed and matched into 6 packs for $7.49 a sixer. One gem that I found in this batch was Storm King Stout, regularly $9.99 a sixer. Buying six singles and saving a buck fifty isn’t bad but it’s even better when you put those singles into a Pete’s Wicked Ale box and the guy at the register rings you up at the Pete’s price, just $5.49…

Most beers seem to be in good condition. Prices are, as with any Woodman’s, just about the lowest you’ll find anywhere.

Staff doesn’t know anything about beer and is not helpful but who needs them in a place like this anyways.

My biggest complaint is that this store is consistently understaffed creating long lines at the liquor store check out.

Otherwise, this is a good bet on beer in GB.

Woodman's is the best place to buy beer in Green Bay. Unless you go to Appleton or to Milwaukee (Discount Liquors is a MUST stop), Woodman's is probably your best bet to find local beers and other craft beers.

While there, we picked up some Ommegang, Capital, Sprecher, New Glarus, and some Bell's. The service wasn't anything special although I wasn't really expecting the grocery store to be a place where I was going to ask a lot of questions.

The prices were decent. The nice thing about Woodman's is the ability to buy singles of the beers. This is excellent for the person who just wants to get a taste before having to buy a sixer of the beer.

I would hit this up if you are in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip. Head to Milwaukee if you can. It is worth the trip there.

As there are not many good liquor stores in the area, this is a standout....though that isn't really saying very much.

A decent selection...a little better than the Appleton store but the prices are slightly higher than the Appleton store.

Help was almost nonexistant but I'm not sure that you can expect much help from a grocery store clerk.

Overall, it's a nice value for the money and even though there may not be anything too exotic available, there are certainly beers to cater to every taste.

I'd stop there again if I'm in the area but I won't go out of my way to check it out as I did yesterday.

Stopped here while in Green Bay at the suggestion of BigHuge. Good move! Pulled in off Dousman and parked on the right side, just where the entrance to the Liquor part of the store happened to be. They had a whole, long back wall full of micros and imports, all chilled and begging to be bought. They had a large selection of Germans, and also some English and Czech biers. Their Belgian section seemed to be lacking a bit; nonetheless, I did score a 750ml Tripel Karmeliet at a nice price, along with 6x local Midwest single 12oz biers. Many options to choose from for the MW selections, with plenty of Bells, New Glarus, Lakefront, Summit, etc, to choose from. Lots of macros and semi-macros stacked about in cases as well. Still, a very nice offering of tasty biers. Didn't seem to be much help lurking around that I encountered, though I wasn't much in need of them either. Check-out boy left his sense of humor at the door, too. ;-) Nbd...
Thnx, Hugey....
