Notes/Commercial Description:
We're not sure when Bob rolled into town. He's kind of gruff, sooty black...smells a bit roasted like his appearance. He still has a sweet demeanor, but watch out - he packs a stout punch. To say the least, Bob has a very complex character.

A beer named Bob was very good and highly recommend it. The beer poured a opaque dark with very good ecru head that left a nice lace. The scent was bolstered by coffee chocolate and peat. The taste followed the scent. The m outhfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall the beer was excellent and would be great for sessioning

a: an extremely attractive black stout topped with a good finger width of thick mocha colored foam, a slow recession proceeds good retention and moderate lacing

s: bitter roasts dominate the aroma, then a dose of blackstrap molasses, big earthy evergreen hop aroma, quite nice

m: carbonation a little prickly on the tongue but not too much so, body on the full side but not thick

t: big astringent roasted barley flavors rule, second is a dark evergreen hop flavor that contributes a creeping high bitterness to the dry and roasty finish, some molasses here and there

d: a very easy drinking stout, yum

overall: a high quality stout, pleasantly surprised by my first beer from this brewery in a mining town in the middle of the desert

standard pint at the brewpub

This is another great beer.

It is a clear dark color throughout. I would say it is characteristic of a good stout. It has a light molasses taste which is not overpowering & the fragrance of cascade hops.

I thought it to be an thirst quenching, extremely fine, high quality stout beer.

It is on their year round availability at the tap. This was great as my first beer before I ordered my meal.

A - Served a dark black color with a finger of tan-brown frothy head. The head fades slowly to a thick ring leaving behind lots of lacing.

S - Aroma is full of roasted lightly sweet chocolate malts. There is also some coffee and some milk sweetness in the background.

T - Starts off with lots of roasted and chocolate flavors. There seems to be a bit of hops in the background. Through the middle a touch of coffee a some milk sweetness come through. The finish is a mix of roasted chocolate and sweet milk that lingers.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth and a bit creamy. The finish is nice and dry from the roasted flavors.

D - Very drinkable. Nice roasted chocolate flavor and it is nicely balanced by the milk sweetness throughout.

A: Dark brown; nearly black. Poured a 2 finger chocolate head with good retention. Lots of stick lace.

S: Big toasted malets; burnt toast, bitter coffee, roasted nuts. A little vanilla. Peat, earth hops.

T: Just like smell with some sweet molassas and lactose/vanilla. Sharply bitter finish with some of the bitter-roast coffee favors lingering.

M: Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation relative to many of the style. Works to balance and round out some of the sweetness so finish drys a bit. Smooth and rich; a nice drink.
