Great for the price. No complaints there.
This is a light clear straw color with a thin head. As for the smell, it is similar to the typical adjunct lager. Lightly hoppy, but pretty watered down. There isn't much to it.
The taste is grainy and bready. The bready isn't like a Belgian, but almost stale tasting. I don't mean this in a negative way, but just as a means of distinguishing the two. It isn't as watered down as I expected. Not too bad for the price.
This is an easy drinker. I enjoyed it. I wouldn't classify it with the best of the best, but for what it is it is pretty decent.

Sampling right now on 6/9/14. Bought a 6-pack last week for $5.89 at the Hy-Vee in Council Bluffs, Iowa...right next door. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a vintage 'Schlitz' glass. BA says it is 'retired' but guess they started making it again as the label says" Jos. Schiltz Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wis."
Pours a golden yellow in color with just a thin white head. Some spotty lacing is seen when sipped. Good carbonation. The aroma is mostly of grains and malt. The taste is about the same with some corn 'sweetness'. Actually goes now easy and isn't that bad. No bitter or harsh aftertaste for this old time brew.
