I welcome with wide open arms the return of Schlitz!! Not that I knew what it was before it came back, but I'm confused to exaclty how it went missing for so long. First time I drank this, I picked up a sixer of pints after seeing it on the shelf for $3.99, even cheaper than PBR. Because of this of course, I wasn't expecting much.
Wow, was I surprised. Is that the taste and even the faint smell of a little bit of floral hops? Just a hint like the marketing suggests, but more that you'll get from any BMC adjunct. It tasted good! But if you're one of those who turns their nose up at American Adjuncts, you probably simply won't agree. Head retention is pretty descent. Very clean and crisp taste, a little bit of malt sweetness and hops. Few, if any, imperfections or unpleasant notes. I wouldn't expect anything more, not just because of the price but because of the style, obviously. Grade this beer for it's worth and it's purpose.
I honestly believe that this is a great beer, to the point where I seek it out not only because of price, but because I enjoy it. Pabst will most likely keep production down, because if it catches on that this is actually a good beer that's even cheaper than PBR, well, that's simply not good for PBR. People drink PBR because its cheap. Wouldn't you love to drink a beer because its cheap AND good? Schlitz is it.

My dad use to drink Schlitz when I was a kid. So I thought I would give it a try. Well I liked it . Good beer nice taste not watery not to hoppy. Just a good easy drinking beer. Can't get it just anywhere. But will pick some more up when I get a chance.
Great for out at the lake. Or sitting in the back yard with a roaring fire shooting the bull with friends.
