MAR2524 printed on bottom of 24oz can poured into a teku glass on Nov 5, 2023.

Appearance - Clear medium to deep gold body. Small one-finger sudsy-pancake batter hybrid head. Decent lacing and stick. Decent retention. Looks really good within style. 4.5

Smell - Corn and bubble gum. The old hard, dry, pink stuff from card packets. Alcohol isn't super well hidden, but not super forward. 4

Taste - Has a sharp alcoholic crispness up front, with a bit of that corn and bubble gum flavor. 4.5

Mouthfeel - But it mellows out quickly. It's god a pretty smooth finish and aftertaste. Surprisingly clean, especially considering the upfront shock. 4.75

Overall - Keep in mind I'm rating this beer within style. So I give this a high score not because it's a good beer, but because it's a good example of high gravity. 4.5

Not much aroma.
Taste is revolting.
Feel is very flat.
The taste of alcohol is overwhelming. 8.5% ABV
Could they have just added grain alcohol to a flat Pabst?
If you just want to get shitfaced and you have been doing other inebriates, you might be able to tolerate the taste. IDK

(24 oz can, "THE BULL" 8.5 % alc/vol, JUL 3121(?); purchased cold single from a gas station convenience store in the Dakotas this week... poured into a Busch shaker pint)

Polished clear, gold liquid; tight, yellow-tinged foam sponge; thick bands of lace top to bottom, wow!... on the nose: cakey/bready pale malt accented with ethanol spice; highlights of dirty couch, ash-encrusted car upholstery, sweet sweat; superb!... roundly malty, but with a soft champagne fruitiness around the edges; aftertaste sports subtle apple juice note, musty spice on the palate roof, and remarkably dry floor, especially under the tongue... light, lifting texture; soft sizzle at the back of the palate cleans the slate for the next sip; mellow almost phenolic warmth tickling the tastebuds... this is malt liquor royalty! why don't they sell this in Philly?! I'm just going to savor this moment in my life (2176)

24 oz can from Fred Meyer, $2. My wife's grandfather worked for Schlitz in Milwaukee, when they were still one of the "big" brewers. Memories of getting f@#$ed up on The Bull in college (early 80's). So, flash forward to 2018, and this malt beast is sitting here, challenging me. Initial impression...it's not horrible. Big malt presence with some heavy corn accents. Bright golden pour with small, tight creamy white head. Aroma is malts, grains, slightly vegetal. Taste is more of the malts with a hint of alcohol. Sticky, sweet, malty finish with a light burning sensation. Thats the first two sips...this could be it for the evening. Or my next rating will be completely nonsensical and incoherent.

Poured from a 16oz can into a Pint glass.
The beer is clear golden with 6 fingers of off-white head. Retention is good.
Aroma is medium in strength. The aroma is all adjuncts.
Taste is slightly above medium in strength. The taste is cloyingly sweet with an overall off-putting flavor.
Feel is medium in thickness. It's wet, carbonation is medium and astringency is low.
Overall, it is hard to finish and seems unnatural. I'm surprised enough people buy it for it to have such easy availability.

24 ounce can into IPA glass, best before 10/10/2022. Pours pale golden straw color. Lasting foamy head retention and lacing with crystal clarity. Aromas are a bit of pear/apple fruit, corn, and grain. Taste of big bread dough, cracker, toast, pear, apple, corn, wood, peppercorn, herbal, floral, grass. Moderate herbal/woody/spicy bitterness on the finish. High carbonation and medium-plus body. Balanced creamy/grainy corn and sticky hops mouthfeel. Some lingering bitter dryness, no cloying/astringency. Fairly crisp/clean/refreshing finish, very clean on lager flavors. Mild lingering warmth and a bit of booze of 8.5%. It really is an easy drinker for my expectations. Definitely the best Malt Liquor I've had, very clean grains/malts and balanced noble hops. Not too fruity on corn in the flavors. Dangerously drinkable, and it has me feeling nice after only 15 minutes and half a glass.

Crystal clear gold, nice white head, not the best retention, but better than most cheap beer, a few spots of lace
Smells like corn and husky malt
Tastes like sweet corn and sugar
Medium light bodied and well carbonated
I bought this just to tick the malt liquor style and fully expected to drain pour most of the can. It's better than expected; I might be able to finish the whole thing

24oz can, date code Sep2721. Poured into a Bell’s Tulip glass.
A – pours yellow/gold with a thin white head that fades quickly and leaves slight lacing.
S – caramel and adjuncts dominate the nose with some fusel/boozy notes present from the high ABV.
T – Follows the nose. Caramel, malt, and corn notes are most present. Dry finish.
M – Medium-bodied, medium-high carbonation. Somewhat oily consistency.
O – Decent for the style, but would prefer Steel Reserve Triple Export over this. Tick completed.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep golden amber color with a one finger head of fizzy white foam. The head fades rather fast leaving just a trace of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strongest of a corn syrup sweet and caramel smell. Along with these smells comes some notes of a light breadiness and a touch of doughiness. Overall, the smell is sweet, but smooth, and for a malt very clean.
Taste – The taste begins with a mix of a cracker malt taste that has a rather strong caramel and corn syrup sweet flavor. These tastes create a base flavor for the brew and persist throughout the taste. As the taste advances a touch of dirt and earth come to the tongue and with just a tiny touch of alcohol, one is left with a rather smooth and flavorful, but still super easy drinking and slightly sweet taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is average in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average to slightly higher. For the mix of sweet and smooth tastes the feel is great and makes for a super easy sipping brew.
Overall – One of the cleanest and smoothest high gravity malts. This is one of the best malt liquors out there. And at 8.5 % it hides the booze well, getting its job done in the right tasty way.

This is the second high gravity beer I have tied, the first being Steel Reserve 211.

It looks golden like an American style beer. The smell is good, not like alcohol. The taste is good - malty but no hint of hops or alcohol. Some reviews describe it as sweet. I don't get that. Some reviews says it tastes of corn from the DMS (Dimethyl Sulfide). After reading that, the next few sips tasted of creamed corn, but that soon went away. The mouth feel is rich. As it warms it gets richer - thicker.

Overall, I like it, but I would rather have a Steel Reserve 211, which has more flavor.

This beer and it's ilk can be quite entertaining when you just want to session a buzz. And don't scoff until you've tried this because doing this turns this beer (and especially Steele Reserve) into what could only be called a "goddamn delicious ass malt liquor milk shake": Get yourself a quality insulated cup (think YETI/RTIC) ... fill it to the top with ice ... then slow pour this beast into it. I tell you ... it's 100x better than drinking it sans ice and just chilled. The YETI/RTIC cup keeps it cold for hours. I am only the messenger.

High gravity malt liquor thats all about giving you a buzz. Still tastes great, has a wonderful character.
The look is nice, extremely clear appearance. Light golden with almost no cap and no lacing. The presentation of the can is nice. The smell was kind of a let down. The aroma was bland, just faint husky malt. Not much of a smell for a malt liquor. The taste is very much a preference. When this beer is ice cold, you get a wonderful sweet malt, bready goodness. You get alot of alcohol flavor up front that leads to the maltiness and sweetness of the beer. No hops can really be detected other than to round out the beer. As the beer warms it starts to taste like a wine. There is a good pricle from the carbonation. It is a trend to claim a taste of corn, this beer does not have any detectable adjuct flavors. Like many people suggest, keeping this beer cold is the best way to enjoy. The feel is creamy and rich. Very medium to heavy body. I don't recommend this beer to anyone who is not a seasoned drinker. If you want to try this beer; please take it slow.I would only drink these once in a while. The only problem I have with these high gravity lagers is that the alcohol seems to build up on my pallet and numb my perception of flavor. The beer starts out tasting refreshing, However as you get down the can this lager becomes a absolute nightmare to swallow. the beer has NO hop flavor to help curb the sweetness. last time I had it, it gave me a terrible stomach ache and dirty headache. nice buzz for about 3 hours.
