Best by 27March2014.
A: Pours a slightly hazy red. Tall frothy light tan head that fades very very slowly. Good retention. Thin but abundant spiderweb lacing.
S: Caramel malt and spicy hops. Was expecting a winter warmer due to the name but this smells like a hoppy amber instead. Get just a hint of cocoa in there too, not sure if that's my imagination or not.
T: Spicy, resinous and piney hops up front. Even some herbal character. Toffee and caramel for the malt. Get just a hint of cocoa in there too, not sure if that's my imagination or not. Hops aren't overly bitter but are QUITE dry, especially in the finish.
M: Oddly watery for the ABV. Kinda off-putting a bit. Not bad, just not what I expected. Very drying hop aftertaste.
O: A nice spicy and hoppy amber. Very dry and a little watery - hurts the drinkability a bit I think. Otherwise enjoyable.
