A: Poured from the growler into a Duvel tulip. Body is reddish-copper with a half-finger ivory head that leaves nice rings of lacing.
S: Piney and spicy hops over toffee.
T: First impression: I get quite a bit of spice that makes me think of rye. Malt foundation is there - think toffee and a bit of caramel malt - but it's beaten back by the spicy, somewhat resiny hops. Finishes quite bitter, which coats the palate, but then there's a bit of sweet juiciness after awhile.
M: Medium in heft, carbonation is fairly sharp.
O: Good stuff. Nothing earth-shattering, but a nice addition to the hoppy seasonals, e.g. Celebration, Sucks, etc.
Serving type: growler
