Glad to see that Sixpoint puts dates on their cans. This is a decent ale but it's just not impressing me much, I guess I just don't really care for coffee in a cream ale I prefer them in a stout anyways. Cheers! B-

On my ongoing journey to find a good cream ale, quite possibly, I may have found the best cream ale I have had to date...
About the only thing I really didn't like from this beer was it's look, but that's being nit-picky. It had a nice orange color with some yellow highlights to go with the thin white head, no lacing. The smell was a complex mixture of coffee, some booziness, a hint of sweetness mixed with the tang of oranges - which is about the same I can say for it's taste - a complex mixture of the sweet cream with the bitterness of the coffee to balance it, almost perfectly. Mouthfeel was light, astringent, with a tangy aftertaste. Overall, a very good beer, regardless of its score to other cream ales on my list, I think I really like this one (so far) the best.

A: crystal clear; copper in color; 1 finger ivory head that receded quickly to a wispy cap; OK lacing;
S: stale black coffee;
T: follows the nose from start to finish; mild bitterness at the end;
M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation; lightly dry finish;
O: coffee flavor wasn't pleasant and I didn't pick up any notes of sweetness at all;

Poured from 12oz can into glass. Stamped 'BB16AUG2017'.
Clear honey amber body. White ring with medium lacing.
Aroma of coffee and slightly sweet malt.
Taste is sweet malt, coffee, with tangy note. Coffee disappears at end of taste, then a spicy note.
Clean, dry mouth feel.
Interesting combo of flavors and types.

The clear dark amber beer pours out into a Duvel glass with a 1/2" ivory head the soon starts to recede while leaving a large ring of foam around the glass. Even to the end of the beer lots of the ring remains and there are irregular patches of foam on the surface of the beer. Sipping creates some sheets of foam that leaves patches and bits of lacing as they slide back down the glass to the liquid.
The aromas include the coffee and some toasted, almost cracker-like malt.
The flavors include the coffee, some toasted malt, some coffee-like roasted bitterness, with just a bit of sweetness way in the background.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied and quite smooth with some very finely bubbled persistent light carbonation. The finish begins as the sweet coffee flavor gives way to the dark roasted bitterness of the coffee which seems to take a very long time to disappear from the back of the palate.
A well made made beer that accomplishes what the brewer seems to have intended. Also there's an interesting and complex interplay of aromas and flavors. That said, while I'm finding this one drinkable it's not something I expect to repeat in the future, in part because I'm not a fan of coffee with cream and sugar.
