Pours a nice orangy color, pretty clear, nice head. It's a good looking beer, though on the darker side for IPA's. Smell is nice; subtle, but definite floral hops. The hops are there in the taste, but they quickly get pushed aside by too much malty sweetness. I'm not saying it's bad, it's not. I would drink another, but certainly there is too much malt in here for my tastes, not quite enough hops. Mouthfeel was fine, but a little syrupy-sweet. Not a bad beer at all, but certainly not a standout in this catergory.

Dark, honey amber with a big dollop of cream colored head that settles slow with different sized bubbles slowly popping on the surface and creating sheets of lace on the glass.

Fresh and hoppy aroma with pine sap, orange pithe and toast with a touch of butterscotch.

Mango and tobacco leaf with pine resin and toasted grain.

Finishes with a mild tea-like bitterness. Medium bodied with smooth carbonation.

A good beer and a different tasting IPA than what I'm used to.

Drank this right out of the can around the fire pit last night, gave it a 'good' for appearance. I've had this a few times and have liked it more and more each time.
Smell is very piny and citrusy at the same time. There is also some kind of spice or something that they have in here, sdtrange but it works! Taste is more balaced than the smel suggested. Overall I like this brew. Sixpoint has given me a new IPA to chill and drink around the fire on a warm summer night. Thanks.

Got this as an extra from trxxpaxxs. Thanks dude!

16oz CAN.

A- Pours a hazy golden color with a huge pillowy white foam head that leaves good lacing.

S- Pine hop aroma with some caramel malt and a touch of floral. Some light citrus and alcohol.

T- Nice hop bitterness initially with pine resin and citrus leading the way. A pretty sturdy malt backbone that lends itself to a surprisingly sweet caramel finish.

M- Medium bodied with good carbonation.

O- Overall a solid brew and definitely cool to see an IPA in a 16oz can. A touch sweeter than I would like but still very solid.

Poured from a growler into a snifter.

Appearance: orange-amber color with a thin white head. Decent lacing throughout the glass.

Smell: strong floral hops scent. Very enjoyable.

Taste: a bit malty. Slightly hoppy. Relatively dull.

Mouthfeel: needs more carbonation. Could be the pour, but I don’t think it’s a problem with the growler, I just got it a few hours ago.

Overall: not a bad IPA. I am hoping the remainder of the growler isn’t so flat and I just messed up my pour somehow.

Got a growler from the Bowery Whole Foods.

A- Pours with an amazing big white fluffy head, like 2 inches. Eventually recedes to a thin cover, with a bunch of sticky lace on the sides. The body is a hazy dark apricot color.

S- Slight biscuit, with a twang og rubbing alcohol. Is it me, or are the hops hard to find here? Being from San Diego, maybe I am too accustomed to a hop-punch-in-the-nose.

T- This starts of with some almost creamy malt flavor, not too sweet though. This flavor holds throughout until a slight hops bitterness at the very end. Once again, not a whole lotta hops for me. Nonetheless, I still think it tastes good.

M- Holds up good throughout the swallow. Mild carbonation works well.

D- While not my favorite IPA, as I am more west coast leaning IPA lover, still a very enjoyable brew. I would drink again, like a session beer.

A- Inch tall white fluffy head on a opaque orange colored body. Nice lacing left and a collar+ left the entire tulip through.

S- Nose is of oranges predominately, with some pineapple thrown in.

T- Juicy citrus on the palate. Not overly bitter, but well balanced. Clean aftertaste, which I am unsure of as a positive or negative. Would guess near it's stated ABV.

M- Medium mouthfeel. Crisp carbonation.

D/O- I found Bengali Tiger very drinkable if not very complex. Can container makes this a prime choice for a day at the beach.

On draft at Arnold's. Served fairly warm in a pint glass.

Amber in color with some orange hues. Little whisp of a head.

Nose has some citrus and pine shining through with a bready note.

Chewy. More bread and some caramel in the taste with a fairly heavy hand of hops. Mostly citrus with a lingering pine/spruce note. Orange also hits the palate but everything is superseded by malt.

Easy to drink and nothing tongue-numbing. I could drink a few of these for sure. Anxious to try this in a can along with some of their other beers.

A - Orange in appearance with a small head that dissipates quickly.

S - Citrusy, orange and grapefruit.

T - Malts balance out the citrus to produce a well rounded taste. Hops still provide most the flavor, but not overkill.

M - Medium body and carbonation, nice dry finish.

O - A decent IPA, but not good enough to be a top tier.

Poured a pale orange body with a big, frothy head that left lace down the glass. A strong citric and floral hop smell. An easy to drink IPA that is simple with a mix of light citric hops and some caramel malt to balance with sweetness. Lighter-bodied IPA that passes smoothly but does kick in with a little dry backbite. I'd have another of these although nothing special here.

From 03/12/11 notes. Had on tap at Picco's on Tremont St. in Boston, MA.

a - Pours a blond, straw color with one inch of white head and light carbonation evident.

s - Smells of pine hops, floral hops, and musty, earthy tones.

t - Tastes of pine hops, citrus hops, floral hops, and earthy/grassy notes.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation.

d - A nice IPA. Lots of pine hops in both the nose and the taste, as well as some grassy/earthy notes. Would have again.

Had this on 2011-12-09 in Columbia, PA

A - Mildly hazy amber with a 2-finger white head that fades to 1-finger pretty quickly. Moderate lacing.

S - Pineapple, candied orange, pine and herbal tea. Pleasant and sweet smelling.

T - Grassy, astringent, pine, sweet orange flesh and grapefruit juice bitterness; all of which are stronger tasting and seem to sit on-top of the caramel and bulgar-wheat-tasting malt base. It's an unusual but not unpleasant set of flavors. The aftertaste is grass, sourdough, herbal tea and bitter.

M - Medium body and carbonation. Substantial feel, bubbly and a bit prickly.

O - Interesting brew. It's nice to have a new flavor profile for an IPA. There's certainly plenty going on with this brew. The grassy/tea aspects aren't right in my wheelhouse but this is the first time I've tried this brew. It's good enough to seek out and try again on another day. Seems reasonably priced for a big-tasting IPA.

Gorgeous orange to copper color the beer set an immaculate creamy head that laced throughout the entire pint.

The scent was malty but little else. The malt was somewhat sweet in aroma and strong enough but little hop character could be found in the nose.

The taste followed the nose with a stronger malt presence but a piney, floral hop character came out at the end. Not a lot of citrus, the hops were sweeter and went towards an earthy tone but it melded well with the dominant malt.

The feel was Very smooth with limited carbonated bite. Overall, a nice IPA but not overly trend setting.

Not my favorite of the Sixpoints, which is funny because I expected to really like this after what I had heard about it. The problem for me is that it's simply too malty, grainy, and thick- and not highly hopped enough to cut through all that (unlike Resin, which is a great beer). The flavors are a bit muted and I usually don't want more than one due to how thick and heavy the beer is. To me, a disappointment.

Clear golden colour with a moderate sized, foamy head. Good lacing. Good head retention.

Slightly aromatic hop aroma with good citrus notes. Moderate sweetness from the malt. Touches of grassy resin.

Moderate sweetness with a moderate hop bitterness. Quite smooth. Grapefruit. A solid IPA.

Medium body with moderate carbonation. Good.

A nice beer. I really like the balance here which is achieved without over the top sweetness. Good.

Another awesome hopped up ale from Sixpoint, at least I'm guessing it will be. Considering I'm in love with this brewery and it's early in our relationship so I have to be cautious about falling head over heels. This is their IPA so if this drinks as well as the other beers in their sampler than it could very well seal the deal. Aroma scares me not because this is a Bengali Tiger but because the hop nose isn't as expressive as I would hope for. Tame citrus spicy, even green onion garlic notes coming through but in a timid I work with Sigfreid and Roy type of way. As I dive in with my first big gulp, I will say this has hoppy flavors but a mild bitterness hard to estimate it at 62 IBUs. I like the vivid imagery of the label with watch out for the bands of lacing down the sides of the glass these our the stripes, the "mark of the Tiger". Where's the eye of the tiger? I'm not gonna make any brown eye references there, but listen I like my IPAs hoppy and this flavor doesn't pull it off. This is way to safe east coast style IPA still a nice version of a hoppy beer but not like some of the midwest/west coast IPAs that I've grown to love. Balanced IPA I can deal. Mouthfeel is medium bodied linger hop bitterness drys things out, but carbonation is a bit off here I'm not sure why it didn't seem to be an issue in any of their other beers. Overall, I need more hop bitterness to go with the big juicy balanced hop flavor of classic IPAs. I had a Sculpin yesterday, a Two hearted IPA, and a Crooked Tree IPA all with superior hop profiles to this canned offering. One is rarer than the other four compared but all the others were just better.
