Poured into a tulip. Pours a very hazy golden color. Nice thick white heading that leaves a bunch of lacing after every sip.

Nose is very fruity, juicy and tropical. There is a dreaded onion aroma to that I just do not like. It is very unappealing and just seems to sit in the background.

However the taste does not bring this dreaded onion in with it. This is damn hoppy and bready. Nice thick, syrupy, carmamel backbone that just seems to balance the heavy piney and resinous flavors.

Mouth I would see is borderline full bodied if not then as full bodied an IPA can get. Heavy buttery esters linger on the palate after a few sips.

Overall not bad but this was a bit heavier than I like my IPAs.

A - Pours a murky light amber color with a one finger head that dissipates. The head quickly reappears when the beer is disturbed. Nice tiger stripe lacing on the glass.

A - Heavy pine hop aroma pouring out of this beer. A slight sweet malt undertone, but this aroma is very pine forward.

T - Much less hoppy than expected because of the huge hop aroma. It does start out with a nice hop bitterness but it fades quickly to finish semi sweet and dry.

M - Light to medium in body. Flavor duration is medium. Carbonated very well.

O - Great aroma but it let me wanting more hop flavor. I will drink again.

Pours a cloudy amber color with a frothy head into my glass. Not bad for the style but could be clearer.

Sweet malt with only a touch of hops on the nose. Buttery too. Doesn't smell like an American IPA. Reminds me more of an English IPA.

The taste confirms my thoughts. Very sweet with only a touch of hops.

Ditto. There's a bit more hop presence but not by much.

The best before date is 2/14/12. If it was supposed to be hoppier, I cannot tell at this point. Not a bad effort though. It might also be a BA mis-classification as this is definitely closer to an English IPA.

Tiger orange with stiff tawny foam that lumps and leaves soap scum lace. Cinnamon, caramel and resiny dank on the nose.
Graham cracker, dried apricot and a bit of strawberry with cedar and orange oil hops.
Fruity finish and drying linger. Medium, chewy, sticky.

Gooey, gloopy hops, but that doesn’t mean IBUs or aroma. Somehow doesn’t hold your attention; less than the sum of its parts. Based on reputation, a bit underwhelmed by this one.

Meh.

A: Cloudy orange bodied brew topped by a 2+ fingered soapy white head. The head displayed solid retention and lacing.

S: I could smell the hops spewing from this beer several feet away! The floral notes were accompanied with pine, bready notes, and citrus

T: I was really looking forward to this, but was met with disappointment. The front was good, but the flavors quickly dropped off and were met with medicated bitterness.

M: Well carbonated

O: Will not be seeking out again.

Pours hazed orange-amber with a thin lasting head. Thin lacing sticks.

The smell is of juicy citrus and tropical fruits - mango, lemon, lime (banana/coconut) emanate from the aromatic hops.

The taste is a blast of bitterness - herbal/piney/resiny with citrus. It is bitter with some sour/tart. The sweetness of the malt stays in the background, but ties things together nicely. Finishes dry - slightly metallic.

The feel is slightly oily, with a touch of metal that lasts briefly. It is medium-to-full bodied.

A hoppy brew for sure. A citrusy, piney, resiny IPA that is enjoyable to drink.

Not sure I can sumerize the color etc. as eloquently as others, but I've had about 40 different new to me IPAs this year, and when I think of this beer, I think it defines the style. Lovely aroma, great mouthfeel and an IPA will keep stocked in my fridge for a long time. Love the 16oz cans, finally a craft beer tall boy!
