Poured from a 16 oz. can - slightly hazy, golden-amber with a sustained, foamy off-white head.

I was surprised by the explosion of bitter aromatics after opening the can. This aroma continued after the pour. Will this be a bitterly hoppy cream ale or did they do a lot of dry-hopping?

Based on the balanced flavor, the answer to above is dry-hopping. The initial flavor has a nice complement of refreshing hops, yet is settles down to a smooth, malty flavor. This is a heavier and more robust interpretation of a cream ale with 34 IBUs. Drinks more like an American pale ale.

This ale has a solid medium body with a substantial and flavorful mouthfeel for a cream ale. The carbonation is slightly high which adds some refreshing zest to the palate.

Not at all what I expected from a cream ale - I suppose every brewery has its own interpretation. The brewer's website states this ale is "part pale ale, part wheat, part cream ale". However you define it, it is highly drinkable and worth seeking out.

Very interesting.
Exceptionaly enjoyable on multiple fronts.
Crisp,smooth and yes,creamy.
Nice hop snap with a drenching silky finish.
Usually , when tasting a new brew that I have read about,
Especially a new style. I come through mildly unimpressed, if
not disappointed.
Not the case with Sweet Action.
This is what I hoped a cream ale would taste like, and more.
I only remember Genesse offering this style many years ago.
Sixpoint continues its meteoric rise on my
favorite breweries list. Thanks

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Decent retention and decent lacing. Smells of sweet malt, slight caramel malt, slight earthy malt, hops, slight alcohol, and cream. Fits the style of a Cream Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, slight pale malt, hint of caramel malt, hops, slight alcohol, slight cream, and a hint of yeast. Overall, good aroma, feel, body, and blend for a Cream Ale.
