Got a growler of this at my local beer store earlier today. Never having had anything from Sixpoint before, and being a lover of stouts, I had to give this baby a whirl.
Pours fairly black, wih some ruby hi-lights here and there. Decent tan head forms, then mostly dissipates and leaves some decent lacing. Smell is hoppier then expected. Usually with stouts I expect just some roastiness and such, which is there, but also a nice whiff of hops.
Taste reveals a very roasty and moderately hoppy stout. Finish is VERY dry, with some lingering roastiness. Reminds me more of a hoppy irish dry stout then a full-bodied american stout. Mouthfeel is on the thin side for a stout, but as a result, makes it easy to drink.
Not exactly what I was expecting in more ways then one, but it is enjoyable. Cant say I would get it again, but the growler is going down very nice atm.
