Poured dark brown with a dark tan head into a fluted Murphy's Irish Stout pint glass. The head is thickly condensed and leaves a lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smells a bit like toasted nuts. There's a slight alcohol smell, but only faintly and in the background. There's a maltiness to it as well.
Tastes bitter with a nice finish. It's not a good drinking beer but it's a nice sipping beer. The aftertaste contains a slightly sour note that lingers, but in a pleasant way.
It would have been nice to have a better mouthfeel--this needs more body and a richer creaminess to keep up with the taste. This is the only disappointing aspect of the brew.
I'm happy with this, and I'm happy my wife bought a four-pack, but I won't be seeking it out again with so many good similar beers out there.
Serving type: nitro-can
