Pours copper with a large head.
Nose shows tropical fruit, including mango, papaya and lychee. A fair bit of sweet malt too along with a spicy rye bready note.
Harsher flavours, not as sweet as the aroma would suggest. More bready and toasty notes. A fairly aggressive bitterness in the finish.
Nice moderately high carbonation.

Poured a deep chesnut hued amber with a thinner slight off white head atop even after a hard pour.Aromas of sharp rye, resinty hop,and toasted nuts,a nice mix with the rye really the main component.Big sharp rye flavors mixed with a healthy dose of citric hops,a great combination that alot of brewers cant do as well, light toast as well in the background.A great rye beer, again alot of brewers in my opinion cant make a rye beer like this.

On tap at the Publick House.

I really enjoyed this beer. Frothy, cavernous off white head, easily agitated back. Strong body. Smelled of rye, spice, and hay. Taste was a great combo of rich malt, spicy prickly rye, and this barnyard sort of grain funk. Beautiful balance, complex flavors, highly drinkable, very quenching. Full bodied with a little tickle. Leaves the palate dry wanting more. Everything about this beer left me wanting more. A rockin and unique brew. Dont pass up on this one.

Love 16oz. cans!!

Pours into the glass a deep brown with good clarity and 3 fingers of creamy foam on top that leaves spotty lacing all across the glass. Aromas start off with crisp, spicy rye malts along with some toffee and bready notes. Citric, grassy hops step in and grab hold nicely!

Crisp malts upfront with the spicy, deep rye accents that I really enjoy. Baked bread and a touch of toffee, it flows down with a smack of citric hoppy bitterness. Bit grassy as well. Finishes with rye and lingering hops. Tasty!

Mouthfeel is creamy with great carbonation. It goes down easy and each sip leaves me wanting more. A really solid hoppy rye ale that I'd love to drink more of! I can't wait to try more Sixpoint stuff. Thanks to smokeypeat for this.

A - Pours clear amber with one finger of creamy lookin tan head. Head has good retention and leaves nice lacing.

S - Nice spicy rye aroma, roasted malt, maybe even a hint of smoke. Also some faint citrus. A little on the subtle side.

T - Rye bread, toasted grain and some spice. Subtle grassy hops. A bit of sweetness. Finishes with a dry rye spiciness.

M - Medium mouthfeel starts a bit sweet but quickly turns dry, bitter and spicy. Some prickly carbonation on top of an overall creamy feel.

O - Overall a nice beer from Sixpoint. Good rye spiciness without going over the top. Hops are present but restrained. Quite drinkable.

Appearance: 1 inch head, moderate carbonation, amber in color, clear

Smell: citrus hops and rye

Taste: citrus hops and toasted malt at the start big rye in the middle and at the end

Mouthfeel: sweet start with a slightly bitter end, moderate carbonation, light bodied

Overall: I love love love this beer. This is what I wish more rye beers would taste like. This one screams rye, yet there are enough other flavors there to make it complex. This one is not overly bitter so I can enjoy the bready taste. I am getting this again. Superior beer.

16 oz can poured into oversized wine glass, best by 11-24-11.

Appearance - Murky copper with a 1/4" off white head from a moderate pour that fell quickly to a cap. Some sticky lacing throughout. Not overly attractive, but won't keep me from enjoying the taste.

Smell - Bready slightly funky peppery rye smells. Pleasant and rye forward.

Taste/Mouth - Dry and spicy rye with moderate hop character. Very earthy and full flavored. Bready character that was found in the nose is also very pleasant. Medium body and great carbonation make this an easy drinker.

Overall - Very tasty, but not a looker. Extra credit for being canned instead of bottled. Won't turn it down and will pick it up for outdoor activities. Overall, I'll say a solid very good.

Thanks to djrn for sending this beer in a box full of goodies from Sixpoint.

The beer pours a hazy brown color with an off-white head. The aroma is very nice and is full of rye and pine. The flavor is a little more complex. I get a lot of toffee and rye notes, as well as some nice bitter pine and orange citrus notes. The beer is fairly spicy overall and is refreshing. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Served on tap in a pint glass.

Appearance: Deep amber color with about one finger of off-white head.

Smell: I could smell some rye, some citrus notes. Good smell, not overpowering.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth, medium bodied. Taste was very nutty, which I did not expect with the citrus notes that could be smelled.

Overall: Great beer, although it is not my personal first choice.

16oz tallboy can poured into a Guinness pint glass.

Pours a deep hazy ruddy red/brown color with a nice fluffy light brown head, a nice sticky lacing comes as you empty the glass. Nose is very well balanced, crisp and hoppy with a bitter rye note, love it!

I'll come right out, I love Rye beer, but this easily one of (if not THE) best rye beers I've had, right up there with hop rod rye! It's bitter but the rye doesn't dominate, there's a good herbal tangy/zesty/citrus hop bite that is really delicious. The mouthfeel is full and creamy, it's just world class!
