Made with rye malt to provide a signature and distinct earthy character. Seasoned and dry- hopped with herbal and citrus hops. Truly righteous.

Copper, fairly full-bodied ale. Rye malts fully up front, along with a subtle rye bite, smoothed by the barrel aging process. Deep rye flavor, no subtleties. A competent effort.

The beer pours a creamy off-white head that dissipates at a moderate pace. The beer itself is a clear brownish red color that looks very nice.

The smell is good. It has a fairly good and strong citra note that mixes well with the rye. There is a slight whiskey note and a decent vanilla note as well.

The taste is good. It has a strong and consistent vanilla and caramel malt note with the vanilla being the most dominant. The hop notes are moderate and create a nice herbal note that mixes well with the rye. There is also a good citra note in the finish and aftertaste.

The feel is good. It has a heavy and soft body that is a bit creamy with a lightly biting carbonation.

Overall, this is a pretty good beer and worth trying. It's a pretty good barrel aged beer. It may not be super awesome mind blowing but it's definitely solid.

Nice amber color, although a little muddled. Smell is mostly booze and rye, although I very much like that. Flavor is strong oak, rye, and bourbon, with some sweetness. Vanilla and caramel are hidden in the mix as well. A solid beer.

The appearance has a hazy golden amber colored body with less than a half fingered white foamy head that when it dies there’s a nice clingy lacing that coats the entire glass. The smell has a nice rye malt coming through (nice even though this is a month past its prime). Spicy malt tries to come through to combine with the hops, but has a sort of separateness to it. The taste has a nice spice to it, yet there’s still a nice sweetness coming through. There isn’t much of an aftertaste and has a somewhat dry spicy finish. On the palate, honestly, there really doesn’t seem much there, sure there’s a light sort of body to it (did it subside due to its age....? I dunno). However, I will say its sessionable - sure is as I’d have this with food. Carbonation is a bit smoother than most Rye Beers I’ve had. Overall, pretty good rye beer that I would come back to.

Light brown and amber colors abound, small 1/4" white head on the top, good retention though.

Aroma was hitting those rye notes with a peculiar yeast contribution of fruitiness, then a mild current of hops.

Taste was a rye bomb. Bitter too. Some citrus. This beer borrows from all over the world in terms of its ipa like notes. Hits some complexity you don't see in this style too often. Unique.

Had this alongside a killer burger on vacation in NYC. I'm sure environment/context played a part...late summer evening, tired legs from long walks, that killer burger to sate gnawing hunger...even still, this brew was delightful all its own, offering loads of spicy rye, in concert with resinous hops, to satisfy and delight. Great prickly carbonation that only enhanced the refreshing nature of the brew. Great stuff.
