got to try this one over at the breslin although last two times i was there it was no longer being featured but there is a new one in its place

was presented to me as a scotch ale it poured deep blood red had a little bit of brown in it basically a clear color with an off-white head on top

smell amazing it had that peat smell in it but also you could definitely tell there was some hops in there too and some rich toffee malt

nice balance of flavor between the earthiness, smokiness and then the underlying sweetness of the ale

overall a great cask ale and i think probably better on cask than it would be if it were on tap

Cask special for Syracuse Real Ale Fest. A dark brown, with good peat, no head. Above average mouthfeel. A mild but still significant peat, a good scotch style and a good cask. Clear stats and name on the cask. My favourite of the fest, and greatly drinkable.
