Growler- Chill hazed darker amber, oatmeal head, leaves moderate sheeting and an enduring thick film. Malty nose, with some herbal hop nots tossed in. Full flavor Octoberfest, the printout label from DeCiccio's says this is the first batch of O'Fest from Sixpoint. Tasty and easy drinking. More then a moderate hop punch comes in about midway and flows all the way to the finish. Enjoyable brew, went great with some left over pecan pie.

Arrives dark amber with a strong red tinge. Small white head drops quickly.
Smell is weak. What shows up is lightly roasted malt, some faint caramel and a touch of hops. To much work to find it, though.
Taste is more Red Wolf than oktoberfest. A bit of roast on the malt, hops, some breadiness and some green wood.
Light body, fizzy on the tongue, harsh like a mega lager about half way through. This might make a decent Euro lager or maybe a red ale if the harshness was trimmed out of it. There is really nothing here to recommend it, sadly.
