On cask at The Malted Barley. Pours a murky, muddy brown color with no head. Zero lacing. Aroma is of citrus hops, bready and a bit floral. Taste is a light floral and citrus hops flavor with bread and malts. Earthy. Piney/floral finish. Light thin mouthfeel. Easy to drink with a light booze presence. Overall, decent Red Ale worth grabbing.

Comes in an inviting light reddish brown color.

The aroma has some citrus, tons of bready and caramel malt.

The flavor has a gentle amount of citrus hops, but is muted by lots of caramel malt and nutty flavors.

It's extremely drinkable with a kind amount of carbonation. Good for casual drinking, nothing too exciting though.

Poured from a growler into a pint glass. Received this from trxxpaxxs in the Locals Only BIF.

A: Orangish red color. Fairly clear. One finger white head with good retention and sticky lacing.

S: Hops upfront. Good combo of floral, citrus, and earthy hops. A weird, off, toasted caramel aroma, reminiscent of bad breath.

T: The taste is good, contrary to the smell. The hops are well blended and the nuttiness and toasted caramel balance it well.

M: Light to medium body. Medium high carbonation. Slightly slick.

O: A good red ale. Nicely blended hops. The smell was very funky and made me think about if I should even taste it. Don't know what that's about. But glad I did because it tastes good.

64oz Growler courtesy of trxxpaxxs in NOOB BIF #6. Thanks Tom!

Appearance: Poured into 20oz imperial nonic leaves about a finger and a half of cloudy white head. Really fantastic lacing as the beer goes down. Color is a little on the orange/brown side for a Red Ale, but it looks nice. The body is fairly cloudy.

Smell: Nuts and malt. Not a particularly strong smell, but nothing unpleasant.

Taste: Heavy on the caramel, a good amount of nutty flavor, and a bit of flowers for balance. I've noticed a common flavor throughout every one of the Sixpoint cans that I don't taste in here - not sure if this guy has a different yeast, but there's no noticeable flavor profile from the yeast. All in all it is malty but nice.

Mouthfeel: Light body, low-to-moderate carb.

Drinkability: High. ABV is relatively low and it goes down nice and smooth. I'll drink two glasses of this tonight easily.

Overall: It's a decent beer. This is nothing at all like the Hoppy Reds such as Nugget Nectar or Zoe - it is extremely malt forward. It's also not terribly complex. But, it's a very nicely done take on the kind of beer you might make for your first homebrewing batch.

Poured from a growler bought at Whole Foods Bowery Beer Room into 400ml New Belgium branded snifter.

Appearance: Copper color with a hue more toward red and a small, quickly dissipating orange-ish head that leaves a thick lace.

Smell: Sweet buttery malt and a hint of sour apple with piney hops and some nutty aromas.

Taste: Toasty all-round with buttery sweetness and hints of caramel and citrus.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with light carbonation and a sticky, refreshing finish.

Drinkability: This is a very tasty and well-balanced red ale. It's the cheapest available for growlers at the Bowery Beer Room, and is more than worth its price. I'd definitely have this one again. This beer is also extremely drinkable and sessionable, without compromising too much flavor.

Picked up a growler at WF Bowery beer room

A- Pours a clear yet slightly hazy amber/brown...looks like iced tea without the lemon. Gives an off white 1 finger foamy head that does not stick around long. No lacing. A few streamers....overall nothing that stands out really.

S- Caramel, toffee biscuity notes. Not exciting, but tasty smelling.

T- Much like the nose, I get smooth caramely grains. Toffee biscuity. Finishes with a subtle floral hop bitter exit.

M- Mild-medium bodied. Even, low carbonation. Uneventful, but not distracting.

D- I have really enjoyed all of Sixpoints offerings, and come to embrace their sessionabilty. I think of them (in a good way) as not always having to big/extreme to enjoy a quality beer. Just solid tasty beers. I could happily drink plenty of their beers.
