My last of the 4-pack generously sent to me by one Mr. BeerTruth. I’m not a huge Lager fan of any kind but if you add enough hops, me likey. This has enough hops. Drank from my Surlyfest mug while watching the 2012 Players.

Appearance – Pours a crystal clear straw yellow with a nice frothy half finger bright white head. The head fizzles away fairly quickly leaving a pretty solid collar and a spotty bit of lacing.
Smell- Very earthy and Noble with that unmistakable German lager nose. Slightly sweet smelling with a touch of bready malt underneath. Fresh cut grass and hints of lemon zest sneak in as well. The nose is exactly what you’d expect – solid.
Taste- So earthy and lightly bitter it borders on Imperial Pilsner territory when it comes to the hop bite. Somewhat herbal and medicinal as well with a spicy bite midway through. Despite the hoppiness that makes up the majority of the beer there is a light bready base that adds a dollop of sweetness. I’d even dare to say maybe a touch of toast. The finish is brightly hoppy with more of that lingering grassy earthiness.
Mouthfeel- Full bodied beer with a nice aggressive bite of carbonation.
Drinkability- Easy drinking, nicely hopped Lager. It’s got enough of a hop bite to keep me interested yet still remains crisp and clean. I really enjoyed all 4 cans and will get more of this when I can. Thanks Adam!

Appearance: orange hazy with 1 finger head.

Smell: Belgian ale esque, hoppy, lemon, seltzer.

Taste: Thick, lemony, cracker like, grassy hops, clean finish.

Mouthfeel: quite effervescent and very silky.

It was a good pilsner and definitely one of the better ones I have had. Would definitely drink this again.

Can with a best before date of May 2015 (drinking in July 2014).

Beer has a typical pilsner head. Beer has a wonderful aroma of hops. Strange because they actually smell more like American IPA hops vs. the usual European Noble variety. The taste is excellent for a pilsner. Very hop forward with maltiness balance. A little over hopped perhaps but a tad more balanced than say, Prima. Overall I thought this was one of the better pilsners out there and a high quality brew from SixPoint.

Best by May 9, 2015. 12oz can poured into a pint glass. This was a gusher, but didn't affect the experience. Pours a pale yellow with a small white head that leaves nice retention and solid lacing. The aromas are full of sweet pilsener malts. Lots of citrus notes. I will say there is a nice hop presence in the aromas and flavors. Some pear in the mix as well. The flavors are great. There's definitely a hop bite to this one, but still remains true to the style. Maybe some black pepper in the mix as well, but it's really not spicy. It's extremely clean and refreshing. The mouthfeel is very nice. It's light with a solid body to it. The carbonation is active and it's very smooth. This is an extremely drinkable brew. It's perfect for the warm weather, but will hit the spot during any season.

I'm pretty much blown away. This is definitely my favorite beer I've had from Sixpoint. I'm disappointed that it took me so long to try this. Awesome stuff. Highly recommended.

Appearance: A touch darker than your adjunct pilsner, it's crowned by a fairly fluffy head. Good head retention.

Smell: Hops, some biscuit malt, and a little bit of skunkiness that you're going to expect from a German-style pilsner.

Taste: Fresh, ultra-dry hops and a touch of malt. This isn't my favorite style by any means, but this beer tastes refreshing with its floral flavors.

Mouthfeel: Near perfect, the beer truly is crisp without being overcarbonated. It's sessionable despite being flavorful.

Overall: Absolutely the best pilsner I've had and likely to please the IPA fans who are normally wary of malty lagers or pilsners.

appearance; color is a very clear, pale gold. pours a finger of white head that quickly settles into spotted lacing. a slow, steady stream of bubbles constantly rise to the surface of the beer.

smell; very clean. smooth yeast, kick of floral hops.

taste; clean, yeast flavor, bread, hint of malt sweetness, nice punch of citrus and earthy hop notes.]

mouthfeel; very crisp, light body, medium carbonation. very slight amount of dryness before leaving quite a juicy feel in the mouth.

overall; the perfect american pilsner.

Pours light straw colored yellow. Minimal head. Somewhat hazy

lemongrass and spice in the nose. A hint of lime. Somewhat farmhouse smell.

taste is grassy with the hint of lime picked up in the nose. A touch of bitterness and rounded out with a bit of a sweet green tea taste. A bit of American citrusy hops become somewhat apparent halfway thru.

Light bodied as expected with moderate to high carbonation. Crisp, dry, and really clean finish.

Kind of new to this style but I really like this one. Works great in these hot humid summer days. a lot of flavor packed in to this beer but maintains a light refreshing body. Well done once again by the boys from Sixpoint. Seek this one out!

Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine Issue #49 (Feb 2011):

Bight golden, lively, with a creamy white foam head. Nose is very delicate with soft bready malt and floral hop aromas, and a hint of hard-boiled egg. Prickly carbonation up front. And, like its name suggests, this is one crisp--"very crisp"--beer. Nice bite of herbal and pith, with a quick snap of dry bitterness, and suggestions of mint and green wood. It eventually yields to a smooth, but firm, body. Malt character is expectedly light. Touch of honey and a complementary biscuity note that pairs well with the beer's crispness, and adds more depth to the overall dryness of the beer. Very quenching, more-ish and insanely drinkable. One of our favorite Sixpoint offerings to date. Tastes like a fresh import. Zwei Maß Crisp, bitte!

16oz tall boy w/ a best before date on the bottom. Poured half into the glass for look and smell.

LOOK: Mildly hazed golden glow when put up to the light, thin but very sturdy lacing.

SMELL: Fresh cut hay, lemongrass, hop spice, bready, clean, yeast, hop oil

TASTE: Deep crispness, semi-puckering, bitter, grassy, herbal, faint lemon rind, grainy, bready, dry finish

In the fast paced craft beer movement lagers have been trying to catch up, Crisp is proof that things are turning around and gives a better view of what a modern lager can be ... taking from old while brewing from new minds.

Poured into a pilsner a lighter lemony color with a nice fluffy white crown that left multiple broken rings of lace behind as it settles.Wow what alot going on in the nose, herbal and floral hops overtop of sweetish bread dough, the doughy aspect of the beer really stands up well to the hefty dose of hops.Herbal almost minty-like hop flavors really stand out at the onset, light caramel and crisp pizza dough malt flavors are fantastic!I have never even come close to rating a pilsner a "5",I really liked Sudwerk pils, but this is the best pils I have had,its delicate and "crisp" but assertive,I will search this out and buy again, just fantastic.

A: An impressive 2 and half fingers of white head on a medium golden beer with excellent clarity.

S: A medium-low earthy and floral Noble hops aroma. I get some pils malt aroma but otherwise it's just a clean lager fermentation.

T: A medium amount of floral and earthy hops flavor with a medium hops bitterness dominate. There is a moderate Pils malt sweetness. The finish is dry and the aftertaste has a quick hops bitterness with a slight harshness ( but this can wasn't refrigerated as the brew suggests). The balance is somewhat bitter.

M: True to it's name a crisp, medium bodied beer that is a bit fluffy feeling with moderately-strong carbonation.

O: There should to be so many more flavorful lagers like this available in the market. This beer is mostly straight forward noble hops with some pilsner malt and a clean lager fermentation.

Very nice beer.
Hazy orange color with a small white head that left just a bit of lace.

Sweet malt aroma. Grassy, herbal hops.

Biscuit taste. Tasty piney/herbal hops.

Nice crisp, refreshing beer. Enjoyed it a lot, and I still have another 4 pack to drink.

A - Pours clear golden brown with two fingers of creamy off-white head. Head has decent retention and leaves quite a bit of lacing.

S - Aromas of Pils malt and bread, with a nice compliment of cirus and lemongrass. Very nice aroma.

T - Nice, crisp taste that follows the nose pretty closely. Good combination of malt and hops, with a nice breadiness, Pils malt, and a bitter edge with grapefruit zest and lemongrass.

M - Medium, crisp mouthfeel with a nice creaminess. Finish is quite dry.

O - Nice crisp pilsener that is quite refreshing on a hot day. I would definitely get this again.

i grabbed a 4-pack of this stuff from the buy-rite right by the holland tunnel coming back from manhattan, i was surprised to see this beer in a canned format i had never heard of it before but the clerk had recommended it to me

i poured it into my glass and the head came bursting over the top but then all of sudden stopped right there frozen in mid-air, crazy

the aroma had a nice floral nose but also there was a crazy fresh cut grass aroma and a little bit of egg as well, haha don't know if that was supposed to be there but i liked it

the taste was just great! the beer does not look like it would taste the way it does it really has a lot of bite and character there, is this was a real pilsner is supposed to be like? because if it is then i need to drink more pilsner they must have been ripping us off the whole time

the only minor blemish is i thought the mouthfeel was just a little bit flat or weak but i am really nit picking at this point, it really was super fresh and refreshing hey you might even say it was "crisp"

i look forward to trying the other ones

Pours nice golden yellow with a nice off-white head. Some nice grainy malty notes and slightly sweet. Goes down smooth but some nice grassy hops throughout each sip. The mouth feel is light bodied and crisp with the persistent carbonation and it ends on a slightly sweet note. I was surprised that Beer Advocate classified this as a German Pilsner, it reminds me more of a Helles - maybe because of its soft sweet roundness. My palate loves the North German pils (Prima Pils and Jever). Overall, it is a good lager though.
