Golden-amber with a thin creamy head, nice citric noble hop aroma with notes of sweet, toasted malt. The taste is similar to the nose, it starts with a nice hop bite and then becomes refreshingly grassy and herbal with elements of citrus. The malt is not very prominent but does give a nice balance to the package. Very smooth and almost creamy in comparison to other examples in the style. This is a very good pilsner!

Consumed 11/23/12

Appearance: Clear, slightly hazy, golden orange - a genuinely golden gold when held to the light - fizzy white head, leaves a few spots of lacing

Smell: Bready, grainy, pale malts - intentionally mild - some spiciness from the yeast, works very well - lightly grassy, with some light, sweet citrus - floral notes - lightly sweet

Taste: Pale grains and pale malts - a vague hint of toasted grains, nice malts overall - spicy lager yeast - mildly grassy (in a remarkably clean way) - some sweetness, some light hints of citrus

Mouthfeel: On the heavy side of light, could actually be a bit more crisp, nicely carbonated, nicely drinkable

Overall: Easily the best thing I've ever had from Sixpoint

This is a lovely pils. Very clean and very drinkable. It is definitely reminiscent of a German lager, but it has some serious American influences. I could drink a lot of this.

Poured from 16oz tall can into a pint glass.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a little bit of haze to the body and a robust effervescence. Head is two fingers of frothy ivory foam with good retention. Attractive!

Smell: slightly grainy, slightly bready malt aroma with a hint of that lager-yeast scent. Hops are herbal and earthy. Overall, a nicely earthy blend, but it's a bit messy for the style -- not precisely "crisp" as the name would have it.

Taste: interesting malt flavor that starts off on the dry side but then exposes its sweetness. Hops are earthy but prominent with a hint of sweet fruitiness which really works here. Bitterness is relatively high. Perhaps not quite the clean, crisp Pilsner style exactly, but a good take on what can be done in those parameters. I like it.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and a decent creaminess. Works for me!

Overall: tasty and drinkable ... what more do you need? I'll definitely look for this again the next time I'm in New York.

The Crisp is crisp....not very smooth. The appearance is clear yellow with thin creamy white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The smell is mostly wet grain. The taste is sharp with Saaz hops and tinges of alcohol...plus a lingering aftertaste. After several swigs the beer smooths. The mouthfeel is medium to light in body with good carbonation. Overall it is ok.

A: Crystal-clear, golden-yellow with a big, foamy, fizzy white head that leaves behind good lace, retention, and chunky foam on top once the head settles.

S: Crisp pilsener malt with grass, hay, barn, and light, citrusy, fruity hops.

T: Fantastic flavor. Spot-on with the hops, malt, and lager yeast. They all come together to form a very pleasant drinking experience. The finish is exquisite. This beer is how I imagine the two styles to taste like in their countries of origin.

M: Super smooth, crisp, and refreshing. The finish is fruity and clean. Not nearly as dry as the original styles. Drinkability is off the charts. Great lingering lager feel and taste.

O: Another extremely well-crafted beer from Sixpoint. I'm loving the cans and I'm loving what this brewery is doing.

16 oz can pours a medium amber with persistent fluffy white head - truly a beauty of a beer. Aroma is grassy with lemon, and caramel malt. Bitter pepper and grassy hops mark the flavor, although a bit soapy. Crisp is a perfect description for the mouthfeel - a nice hoppy bite, sharp to the tongue, mellowing in the finish. German Pilseners were my first "quality" beer love after making a trip to Deutchland and this one is a nice representation of the style. Would think this would make a great session beer for both craft and Miller Lite drinkers.
