wow i was able to try one other of the mad scientist beers back a couple of months ago and it was made with coffee but this beer was made with another special ingredient i hope i can try more of the mad scientist beers they are really unique and fun

ok so the most amazing thing about this beer for me was the color seriously this beer was like a bring pink color or even a magenta kind of a purple red color how did this happen? the guy next to me said they made the beer with hibiscus and that is how it got this way i never had a beer before that looked like this

the smell was there too it must have been the hibiscus it smelled like spicy cloves and bananas but also a sweet floral smell how did they do that?

the taste was there too real dry and tart flavor with some yeasty flavor too super crips and refreshing perfect for right now it was so hot outside and this was really exotic and hit the spot

great mouthfeel real light and drinkable overall this is one of the most unique beers i had i can't wait to try more the scientists stuff from sixpoint they are becoming a good favorite of mine

Pours an odd yet attractive hazed purple and light brown color, very small spots of lacing on top. Scent is quite a unique combination of light yet tangy wheat, strong floral scent, moderate amount of coriander, and clove, hints of citrus. Taste takes another turn, tart and tangy as well as lightly fruity and floral. Spice notes are kept in check until the beer warms a bit, they don't interfere at first, but taste becomes muddled near the middle of the glass. Lighter side of medium bodied, could benefit from bubbly carbonation. Interesting composition, execution slightly off.

Picked up a small 16oz fill from syosset bev about 20 mins ago. Shared with the wife while prepping dinner.

A - poured into a duvel taster tulip. Murky dark pink in color. Head was about a finger and an off white almost pink tinted foamy head. Attractive. Visible carbonation can be seen racing to the surface.

S - has a very beery smell, but with a touch of flowers. Some candied sweetness, but a lot of lager/pilsner in there. Interesting.

T - pretty interesting again. Mild sweetness, mild flowers, and a kick of a classic lager/pilsner flavor (which I imagine the others who reviewed this are calling tart). Not very witbier like. Very malty.

M - mouth is pretty good. Nice carbonation. Medium to light bodied. Cooling and refreshing. Leaves a nice feel.

O - overall, interesting. Not very witbier like. Has a pilsner/lager (or I suppose you could call it tart) thing going on with a touch of sweetness and floral flavors. Not your poppa's witbier, that's for sure. Gkad I have access to these sixpoint experiments, they are a great brewery.

Sampled at the BBF.

A - Slightly hazy dark pink hue with an off white almost pink head. Left fair lacing and faded at average rate.

S - Nice witbier aromas with light hints of floral (presumably the hibiscus). Some slight sweetness but mostly grains.

T - Not very wit like but still delicious. Good grains and a nice sweet herbal/floral flavour. Slightly tart, which works nicely for this beer.

M - Good mouthfeel, like pretty much all Sixpoint. Nice carbonation keeps this crisp and refreshing. Very drinkable.

O - Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this beer. Must be somethign about hibiscus flowers because I havent had a beer with them then I didnt thoroughly enjoy. Love what they bring to beers and this one, with is subtle floral notes, is no different.
