12oz can, best by 7/30/12. Very cool can, even though it looks a bit like an energy drink.
Pours a hazy copper with a nice, off-white, two-finger head. Great retention and tons of lacing.
Not very aromatic. Some grapefruit and citrus rind from the hops. Lots of caramel malt and breadiness.
Flavor is thick and malty, with a good amount of resinous and oily hop flavor. Grapefruit again, paired with a woody and earthy hop character. Nice bitterness level. Tons of bready malt with a hint of sweetness. Clean, bitter finish with a slight booziness. Mouthfeel is undercarbonated, but smooth and weighty.
Overall, I think this is a pretty average DIPA. I like my DIPAs drier and more aromatic. Maybe they should rename this beer "Melanoidin." Decent beer with no glaring problems, but too malty.

Packaging: 12 oz. skinny can

A: Hazy, dark copper colored-beer with a white head. I get a good amount of lace; the head dissipates pretty quickly.
S: Smells are a fabulous melding of fragrant floral and citrus hops plus rich, caramel maltiness. I could happily smell this all day long...
T: The taste has a sharp bitterness of the citrus/fruity hops, as in grapefruits, but also has the malty caramel flavors noted in the aroma.
M: Full-bodied, the beer finishes with the same themes of resinous (ha!) hops and malt undertones.
O: Bold DIPA with a great balance -- loved it!
