Reviewed from notes. Poured from 12 oz. can into a TBBC pint glass.
A: Deep gold, just mild haziness, with over a finger's worth of creamy off-white head. Good visible carbonation and head retention.
S: Resinous pine, dank, and moist grass hops dominate the biscuit bready malt backbone.
T: Sticky pine hops, chewy bready malt, then citrus rind, dank hops, and just hints of caramel. The bitterness increases as you near the swallow. Sticky bitterness in the finish.
M: Medium body and low alcohol presence for style. Average carbonation sensation.
O: This was a pretty well-executed DIPA that I'll be glad to have around in cans. It doesn't have the fruitier hop flavors that are my preference, but that's a minor quibble. My biggest complaint is that the aroma amount leaves something to be desired. Perhaps a bit more dry hopping would improve the situation.
