Vintage: 2013, best by July 9th, 2013
Glass: Heady Stemless (Why not?)
Pours a hazy golden in color w/ a 1/2 finger white head that left light sticky lacing. Aromas of pine, mango, and fresh cut PVC pipe resin. The flavor started w/ caramel malt sweetness up front, leading into a touch of mango, and finishes with moderate resinous bitterness. Medium bodied and somewhat lush, but needs more carbonation and guessing this was mashed in at around 152 degrees and maybe could have been mashed a bit higher to create a little fuller body. However, additional carbonation might be the only remedy needed. Pretty drinkable stuff.
Overall, good solid DIPA, but nothing mind blowing or really all that unique. I would drink this again without hesitation, but I would prefer more enhanced citrus notes and a slightly better mouth feel. In the end, good beer though from Sixpoint.
