Poured from a can into a snifter, this beer appears a hazy honeycomb color with a two finger white head. The aroma is very citrusy, with no floral or hop aromas. The mouth feel was smooth with just a little bit of an alcoholic bite. The taste isn't overly hoppy, which I was surprised by. It was actually very well balanced between a piny, fresh hoppiness on the front of the tongue with a clean, sweet citrus flavor going down the throat. Overall a very good beer and would definitely recommend.

Poured from can into glass stein. Nice amount of white head, golden amber color, and murky transparency.

Light citrusy aroma typical of an IPA. No floral scents or heavy spice smells.

Taste has definite pine note with some citrus flavor. Definite taste of fresh hops.

Smooth in mouth - little alcohol bite. Some typical bitterness, but not as bitter as expected for 103 IBU's.

I started drinking this before eating, but enjoyed it more with spicy chicken chili. Had another after eating, and liked it even better. Overall very good.

Easily one of the best DIPA's. Heavy piney bitterness with medium citrus (grapefruit mostly) notes. fairly light bodied especially out of the can. One of the best selections from a very strong lineup of sixpoint brews. I've had this on tap a few times as well, which leaves it a little mellower on the bitterness and a creamier body.

Can into Tulip

Appearance- Golden, some haze, good lacing

Aroma- Dense pine, herbal and earthy hop notes, some grapefruit and citrus as well, slight carame malt in the background.

Flavor- Lots of pine, citurs, very bitter but malt comes in at the end to balance it out, but very deep hop flavors dominate, slight alcohol.

Mouthfeel- Medium, good carbonation, slight alcohol warmth

Overall- An awesome double IPA that I'm glad I finally tried, will definately be getting more.

Fills a Blue Point snifter with a hazy, deep amber (SRM 12-13) beer while a thin, fluffy, white head quickly dissipates, leaving occasional fine lacing. The tall, thin, 12 oz. can makes for sleek packaging.

Simple, with strong, fresh pine and lots of orange aromas.

Grapefruit and pine lend nicely to the strong, bitter flavor that carries directly into a strong, long-lasting, bitter finish. What else could one expect from an IIPA?

The body is medium to full and a bit syrupy. Astringency is accentuated by the alcohol which is slightly less than anticipated. Medium carbonation with a sticky residue left on the lips and finishing dry.

This is a fresh sipping beer that lends itself to contemplation.
