12 oz. can poured into a tulip

A- Dark, golden honey, with some turbidity in the body. The head retains at a 1/2" with multiple rings of lacing by the end, and is just barely off-white in color.

S- Sweet malt background, sweet bread, with a resinous and citrusy hop character. Resin is the perfect name for this beer. A slight booze aroma is also in the nose.

T- Bready, slight caramel in the malt profile, followed by a big piney/resinous hop flavor.

M- Medium body, a little thick, with a sticky dry finish, however, not as dry and bitter as I was expecting in the finish. The bitterness in the feel, though, seems to mask the warmth and burn of the alcohol.

O- Very drinkable for a beer this size. Bitterness isn't an extreme, which I'm a big fan of. This is a great (and perfectly named) DIPA.

The beer comes in an orange yellow color with a frothy two finger head.

The aroma is of bready malts and an earthy resin aroma. There's also grapefruit citrus too.

Having had so many West Coast IPAs, this is a great change. There's a juicy grapefruit and tropical fruit note, but then the malt and resin flavors dominate. It has big pine and bite on the mouth, but in a good way. It's almost spicy on the back of the throat as well. The finish is very bitter on this one, of pine, earthiness, resin.

The beer has a good medium body.

It's cool that this beer comes in a smaller can like a Red Bull for the appropriate ABV it is. A really solid DIPA from Sixpoint.

Appearance: Darker golden orange color for a DIPA. About a finger of head on the pour. Definitely on the lower end of the carbonation scale, not active at all in the glass. Consistent lacing on the edges of the glass. Looks delicious.

Smell: Tons of bitter hops and potent pine. The hops come off very spicy, really peaks up the aroma. Saturated tangerines and mandarin oranges. A slight malt base can be found but definitely a pine and hop dominated aroma.

Taste: The taste goes in a very different direction then I expected after the aroma. The front is a very smooth hop flavor. Honey, straw, melon, watermelon, and other bright fruits. The piney bitterness comes through more toward the end of the beer and on the finish.

Mouthfeel: A unique mixture of fruit hop presence and sticky pine and resin.

Overall: A really good DIPA. Sets itself apart from other with its unique differences in aroma and taste. The finish is easy pine and some bright fruits which leaves a pleasant memory of this beer behind.
