BBD of 10 Aug 2013

Pours a slightly chill-hazed honey color with 2+ fingers of pearl colored head. Nice lacing & head retention

S: Breadyness & a hint of pine, plus grapefruit as this warms

T: Big-time pine, grapefruit, hints of pear & toffee up front. Orange peel& grapefruit as this warms, then more pineyness, then a bit of pear, woody hops, caramel & dryness. Finishes with with pink grapefruit, dryness, woody hops, & pineyness

MF: Medium bodied, fairly sticky, great balance & smooth carbonation

A good DIPA that lives up to its name, I thought these cans were pints for some reason, still a decent value & pretty drinkable

This is a big IPA, but lacks the citrus and sweetness in its hops. It drinks thick, finishes bitter, and it has all the qualities I like in any no-nonsense beer. It does leave a little to be desired if it's the only beer you're drinking that evening, but mixes in to a series of beers (if you've devoted the evening to trying various beers). Resin is my go-to beer when something else I've tried doesn't live up to my exceptions.

Poured into a tulip.
Best before 10AUG2013. Sampled 30MAR13.

[A] A slow pour produces a frothy 2 1/2 finger high head, ecru in color, with ridiculously long retention. As it fades, the lacing left behind adorns the glass in web-like fashion. The body is a glowing orange color, just on the cusp of copper. Light haze.

[S] Straight resin. No fruity bullshit. Maybe some pith and rind (of the orange-ish variety) but the fresh, dank, wet wood, piney component is most prominent.

[T] Bitterness is high. But so is the sweetness - so the 103 IBUs are completely manageable. The oily/resiny characteristic of the hops is at the forefront. You can literally taste the stickiness. I love what the hops contributed to the nose; not a big fan of the flavor that they produced.

[M] Carbonation is medium-low. The body is full. Bitterness and sweetness offset each other so the finish is smack dab in the middle of sweet and dry.

[O] I enjoyed this beer and Iwould certainly order it again...but I would probably not purchase it for in home consumption, as I make IPAs that are more aligned with my taste preferences.

The beer pours a murky orange/ light brown color with a nice foamy head that left quite a bit of lacing.

The aroma is rich and sweet with lots ofr mango grapefruit and caramel. Wow, the taste is incredibleright of the bat there is loads of hop flavor with lots of pine oil and citrus, especially lemon, followed by a smooth sweetness. The aftertaste is straight hops. It has a medium-heavy body with low carbonation and a dry finish.

This is one of the best IPA's I've ever had, I am thoroughly impressed and glad that I picked up this 4-pack.

Awesome lacing after poured into a Std Issue Total Wine Belgian Glass...

The smell is just awesome, (for me) Lagunitas always = guava, 6point = mango... we're in the tropics obviously.

It skirts the line between bitter and malty in a really really nice way that I love. It's not "the best x2 IPA ever" but ask me 4 weeks in a row and I'll give you 4 answers...

This one's worth trying and enjoying !!!

(especially for people who like Hop Stoopid or GF West Coast)
