Very light summery IPA. Pours with ample foam and leaves behind some lace. Cloudy. Very light herbal aroma. Lightly herbal hop flavor. Very light pilsner malt flavor outshines hops until the bitter, minerally finish. Kinda like it, but not really an IPA except for a really bitter finish. Good summertime bitter ale.

Tap at armsby abbey

light fluffy 1 finger head, doesn't really fade but leaves a nice lacing when the beer disappears, semi hazy golden straw colored.

Nose is loaded with nugget hops, earthy and spicy, just touch of fruity hops, bit of malts underneath.

Taste similar, hops are fairly dominant but not as mouth crushing bitter as I expected, grassy earthy hops with a bit of spicy, then some bitterness but not a lot up front. Then grainy malts, little sweetness, bit of juicy malt and hop. Finish ramps with bitterness earthy and grassy, but never hits the levels I expect.

Mouth is med bodied, good carb.

Overall not what I expected, fairly bland and very lame for nugget hops. Oh well.

Appearance: very hazy and cloudy orange color with a 2" head that slowly falls. Nice lace paints the glass.

Smell: earthy tones and some softer citrus comes through to the nose.

Taste: caramel, lemon zest, some pear, big earthiness, and some grassiness. Bitterness is moderate in this single hop ale.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Crisp from start to finish. Light dryness late. Aftertaste is short lived.

Overall: a quaffable IPA that is earthy and grassy, so it may not be as refreshing as some other IPAs. Enjoyable for me personally.

A: cloudy orange appearance, heavy white lacing, minimal head retention

S: some lemon zest, pine needles, waves of citrus, not much malt

T: taste is hop forward with considerable amount of bitterness, some bready malts in the back, pine and resin come through, very bitter on the finish

Mf: light body, high carbonation

O: nice hop forward ipa, nothing out of the ordinary, heavy on the bitterness

Enjoyed on tap at the Armsby Abbey.

A - Poured into a standard pint glass a clear golden straw hue with a one finger sudsy head that fades to leave thick side lacing.

S - Aromas of light citrus hops. Very faint and nonassertive.

T - There is faint hop citrus throughout intermixed with a bready yeasty grain quality. Some sweet almost bubblegum. Really disappointed with this. Expect nugget to be more assertive

M - Mouthfeel is a bit creamy slight bitter hops finish. Very sessionable.

O - Overall I was rather underwhelmed by this spice of life offering. Wish the nugget was much more potent. Not my favourite ipa nor my favourite spice of life either.

Had this On-Tap at Cole's in Buffalo, NY

A: Pours a pale straw yellow with a small amount of pure white head.

S: This beer smells spicy and earthy. There is am obvious lemon scent, but there are also notes of fresh cut grass and fields of hay. There is also a spiciness to this beer that is really pleasant. I can;t put my finger on what spice I'm picking up, but it's definitely there.

T: The beer pretty much follows the nose. It has a quick burst of malt sweetness followed by a touch of lemon, and then it transitions into earth and spice. The flavors are ok, but something just seems a bit off.

M: Light bodied beer. I was really hoping for a refreshing beer on a beautiful beer, but this one doesn't deliver. It's not super refreshing, and it's not really an easy drinker. The spiciness in the back end lingers for a bit.

O: I was a bit disappointed with this brew. I'm happy to have tried it, but I wouldn't buy another pint.
