a hazy orange-yellow pour with an initial 2 fingers of white detergent-like head which quickly died down. smells of orange, lemongrass, coriander - not much there really. a very tart citrus favor up front, followed up by an immediate fungus-like funk, finished off by a sweet orange-coariander flavor... not sure what the hell just happened in my mouth, but i like it. never had a wheat beer this exciting affect my taste buds. feels like a medium body on the palate yet has seltzer-like carbonation, making it feel light bodied on the roof of the mouth/throat. has a slight creaminess to it as well.
i wasn't convinced by the appearance or smell, it felt like it was going to be another wheat beer (which can be boring, honestly). well, i was wrong, 5 seconds of the beer in my mouth and it was enough to change the world of wheat beers for me. i notice it's a kristal-weizen, and even still for that style, it tastes nothing like one, aside from the orange-peel/coriander traditional hef taste. very tart, very funky, very awesome.
