The crowd rises to its feet as Apollo draws back his golden bow…
Picture it. Shadows starting to lengthen on a bright green lawn. A sun dappled pool shimmers beyond that. What’s that frothy beverage poured so, so high at your side? It’s like nectar and ambrosia sent down from on high. The all-quenching gift from the sun-god has arrived.

(Served in a tulip glass)
A- This beer pours a murky dark orange body with a bubble white head that is soon gone but a gentle carbonation keeps a thin ring on top.

S- The perfumed fruity esters are almost banana in quality with a full grapefruit aroma to follow. The finish has an interesting graphite pencil smell in the finish.

T- The light dry tartness of coriander and lime hops note leads to a dry finish with just a bit of hops bite and a circus peanut ester note in the finish aswell.

M- The medium-light mouthfeel has a gentle fizz that fill the mouth after each sip.

O- The nice tartness and subtle hops are good to the finish without being too dry and a good yeast character adds a unique flavor to this beer.

Look: It pours yellow with some clouding. It has a white head with excellent head retention.

Smell: It has doughy aromas with bananas. There is very light spice.

Taste: There are banana flavors up front with spice. There are low levels of doughy wheat in the background. There is a tad bit of sweetness to it.

Feel: It has a creamy texture with a medium body.

Overall, the banana is stronger than the spicing as far as the balance goes. The sweetness is a bit interesting in the flavor.

I like the classy can artwork, great use of color. The pour is a bright yellow color. The taste is under ripe banana, mild white pepper, along mild spice notes like clove & all spice. All in all, this was not a bad wheat beer but the flavor is sort of toned down for my liking. Cheers! B

12oz can.
L: Yellow with a light haze and two fingers of short-lived, frothy head.
S: Faint aroma of yeast and lemon.
T: Lemon (juice & zest), a hint of white peach and some overripe banana.
F: Light body with a smooth mouthfeel but a flat finish.
O: A light, easy-drinking summer beer. An unremarkable weizen but it has its place as a very decent thirst-quencher alongside a glass of Peroni or a Camden pale ale.

Look: Pours a slightly opaque, hazy lemon yellow color with a two finger head of densely compacted white foam. Laces the glass extremely well.

Aroma: Bananas; peaches and honey. There's a certain sugary creaminess to the nose. Aroma is a little bit like sun tan lotion.

Taste: Clean notes of condensed cream and bread pudding followed by a slightly fruity tang of overripe bananas complemented by notes of clove and gentle white pepper. Somewhat floral and grassy. Very easy drinking and smooth.

Feel: Velvety and rich; but not overtly heavy. Medium/heavy body with moderate carbonation.

Overall: It's been a long time since I've had this, and it's just as good as I remember. This paired really well last night with burgers and dogs off the grill for the 4th of July. A really bright and creamy Kristallweizen. This is a perfect summertime beer.

Sixpoint Brewery "Apollo"
12 fl. oz. can "BEST BY SEP 24 21 PBG21083 20:23FL"

Notes via stream of consciousness: It's 87˚F with a nice breeze under sunny skies on the 4th of July in Philadelphia and I've got a summer wheat beer in front of me. It even says on the label "THIS SUMMER ALE IS BEST SERVED IN A GLASS AND IN THE PRESENCE OF THE SUN.". It's a lightly hazy deep-gold beneath a finger's width of white foam. The aroma is sweetish and bready with some light bubblegum and spice. The flavor follows with a delicate edge of acidity and some additional apple and banana. I wonder what yeast they're using for this. I initially though Weihenstephaner but now I'm not sure. A moderate bitterness of 13 IBUs balances it and it finishes mainly dry. It's medium-light in body and gently crisp. A higher carbonation would be more in keeping with a German hefeweizen but this is fine as it is. The only drawback to that is that the head didn't hold up as well as it could have, and there's not a whole lot of lacing. In the end I think it's a very decent weizen that goes its own way.

Pours a rather hazy (for the style) light yellow, thick 1.5" head that slowly recedes leaving ample lacing. Nose is light banana, clove, fruity black pepper. Taste is bread dough, banana bread, lemon peel, banana candy, light bubble gum. Drinks crisp and refreshing. A light, sessionable wheat beer; not a ton of depth, but plenty tasty.

Pours a mostly clear, slightly cloudy, golden color. Carbonation is visible along with a large foam head, about a thumb’s length.

The nose has notes of wheat and bready malts along with characteristics typical of traditional German wheat beer. Aromas of banana, orange peel and clove.

The taste is moderately sweet with doughy and bready malt notes, graham cracker and creamy wheat. Gently spiced with notes of clove and grassy hops, as well as fruity notes of orange and banana. There is a gentle touch of earthy bitterness, just enough for balance.

Light to medium bodied with a soft and smooth mouthfeel. The finish is smooth and semi dry. The carbonation is moderate.

Solid and refreshing summer wheat beer. Well balanced and well crafted. I would have again.

This beer stands as the #3 Kristallweizen on this site.

Poured from Sixpoint's tall, skinny 12 ounce can into a weizen glass. I did a fairly vigorous pour, since 12 ounces won't come close to filling this glass.

Crystal clear golden amber, nicely carbonated with tiny bubbles rising to the tall, white, thick head with excellent retention.

The smell is bubblegum front and center along with a peppery spice.

The taste is a bit odd; not necessarily in a bad way, just hard to describe. Bubblegum that has started to lose its flavor? That doesn't quite get it. Maybe a little indistinct fruit. A little of the spice as well. Semi-sweet. No bitterness. No crispness, which I might have expected from a beer named "summer." It is easy drinking and goes down quickly. Not much aftertaste beyond the semi-sweet lingering bubblegum.

The beer has a decent body, not thin.

Overall, I am disappointed. Thoroughly mediocre. Can stamped with a best by date of 9/24/21. If Sixpoint uses a 6 month BB time, that makes this beer 3 months old. It shouldn't be suffering too much from age. Anyway, not impressed. Calculated rating is riding on the look and aroma. Otherwise...

Pours a nice gold with one finger foam. Not much on the nose to me ...hint of banana and clove. Taste is predictable Hefeweizen but the banana and clove are dialed down. Goes down easy. Very nice !

12oz can. Can bottom is stamped 'PBG 21083 BEST BY SEP 24 21'.
Clear, pale gold colored body. One thin finger of white head, but this quickly recedes to a partial cap. Leaves some small spots of lacing.
Aroma of banana and cloves.
Taste follows with banana and cloves. Some fruity hops.
Medium mouth feel. Clean and crisp texture.
Real wheat beer taste with the yeast esters.
