Well I dropped the 4 bucks for the single on this through Halftime beverage. Was pretty much the only way to try this beer since I couldn't find it anywhere local. Best by July 10th 2013
A - Wow very lively with carbonation giving me tons of bubbles in the glass and a 1/2 inch of deep mocha head. Looks also like an imperial stout should with inescapable blackness void and no ruby coloring!
S - Well your not going to get founders breakfast stout but it does have quite a bit of coffee in the nose. Mostly roast and some dark chocolate funny I was really expecting more. Maybe faded?
T - Has its moments of both coffee, chocolate, roast, and vanilla with the typical house yeast to me gives it a weird metallic flavor mid palate that leads to the finish with bittering hops. I read it is the flavor of "burnt tobacco" never did have it this strong but I don't like it. I really wish this wasn't very distracting but damn man it taste like can! Drinking this out of my tulip glass so it can't be from licking can either.
M - Medium bodied it does a great job hiding the ABV beneath hops even though it does show it in the finish.
Overall I am going away from this very disappointed. As a lover of many imperial stouts some overly hoppy, others chocolaty, many just run of the mill this one does deliver everything but fails to be more than just a homebrew effort that doesn't deserve such high praise.
