Poured from a growler filled at Whole Foods Devon into one of those new-fangled Sam Adams glasses. Pours a hazy golden color with about a quarter inch of head and medium lacing. Smell is slightly floral with a little bit of bitterness. Taste reflects more of the latter, with a bit too much of a soap-like off-note. Mouthfeel is not spectacular either. Overall I'm glad that more breweries are trying the single-hop series but this won't be a repeat visit.

A - pours a hazy deep orange with a finger of white head. Quickly dissipated.
S - nose has some spice notes, Faint sweetness from malts as well as faint hops. Not a lot here.
T - Nice sweetness of the bat. Light citrus comes in after that with some earthyness from pacifica hops. This is a very summery IPA.
M - savory, light to medium body. Very drinkable. Nice carbonation.
O - overall decent. Not six points best, but I enjoyed it.

Pint on tap at Tuman's, the creamy density of the foam made it seem like a nitro-tap was used. Body was a hazy bright orange, deep saturated color. An inch of foam on top that had a meringue like surface texture.
Aroma was a bit odd, sweet tarts candy, Froot Loops cereal, artificial citric fruitiness.
Flavor was fairly balanced, but again the Pacifica hops contribute the same odd artificial fruit character. There was a good pale malt presence too for balance, the finish was pleasantly bitter and dry. Since the whole point of the beer is to showcase the single hop variety, i've concluded from this that i'm personally not a fan of Persica hops. Will give it another shot in the future if it's free.

On tap at the Village Tavern in Geneseo, NY.
Pours a mostly clear orange, with a quarter inch head, and a little bit of lacing.
Smells like pine and grass, but in a strangely muted way.
The taste is similar. Pacifica adds an interesting hop flavor, fairly grassy, with some fruity hop flavors, but it's tempered by some watery-ness. The flavors are just weirdly muted. I don't know if its the Tavern's tap lines, or like I suspect, Pacifica just isn't a good enough hop to isolate on its own for bold IPA flavor.
Light bodied, crisp, slightly fluffy mouthfeel. Fairly drinkable, goes down pretty easy.
This tasted alright, with a few problems.

First had: on tap at City Tap House, Philly, PA
Served in a shaker, a murky golden-orange color, slightly effervescent, with a small ring of white bubbles on top. Light citrus in the nose, crisp, fresh. Taste was crisp and clean, candied orange peel, herbal, green tea, light pale malts. Quite nice overall, but as with other SOLs I've tried, I think this leans more towards an APA than in IPA. Light-medium body, easily drinkable.
