I came across the other review of the this Piggly, and I live pretty close so I thought I'd check it out.
Quality: It was your average grocery store. Piggly Wiggly usually is not all that impressive.
Service: It took 10min to check out at the register. The cashiers were talking to each other the whole time I waited. Poor service.
Selection: IT was much better than the average grocery store(but no whole foods or earth fare). Like the other reviewer said they have the whole New Holland line(and for under $8.50, thats the cheapest that I have seen it in town). They also had new castle 12 packs on sale for $9.99(that is almost below store costs in SC if I am not mistaken). A decent selection of import singles( Three monts, Hobgoblin), as well as stocking Cooper' Pale Ale($8.99) (and for a grocery store in SC that is kinda unheard of). I was kinda surpised, this is an unexpected find.
Compared to anyother piggly wiggley this one blows them out of the water.
If you live close to the Harborview Pig it is deffinitly a nice quick stop for good beer. Great Prices on somethings, and awful prices on others. But if you live in another part of town there are deffinitly other options.

Went here for my first beer stop in Charleston as it's right down the road.
Quality is good - all beer is in the back of the store away from sunlight.
Service is average - as it's a grocery store I didn't expect a beer guy to be roaming around.
Selection was better than I'd expected for a grocery store. There were a good amount of micro selections in the uncooled section, with even more in the coolers, along with all the macros. They also had quite a few singles. The only thing I didn't see that I was looking for was Bear Republic, but they had a good selection of New Holland, and all Palmetto's. They also had a few Belgians in the singles section.
Everything was reasonably priced, judging from what I saw at the few other places I visited in the area.
Overall I was impressed. If you're in the area this seemed to me like as good a place as any to stock up on beer. Nothing exceedingly rare, but a good selection nonetheless.

I was in this store last night and noticed the detail that these guys have put into their beer selection. Bombers and Craft beer everywere were merchandised throughout the store. They also had a growler station on premise. Great prices on their displays as well.
Nice selction of Micros, imports, and macros. They have alot of cooler space and have a ton of varieties. Picked up a couple of bombers before the poker night with the guys. I grabbed a Lambic for one of the ladies playing with us and a couple of Unibrous 16's and one Trois Pistoles. I spoke with Matt the Co-Operator and requested some of the Brooklyn 1, which they were out of. Mentioned it will be back in stock tommorow.
All beer was priced to sell and the dates were well rotated. Great service from the manager as well as the cashier.

Who would have thought that a grocery store called Piggly Wiggly, would have one of the premier beer selections in Chucktown? It suprised the hell out of me, that's for sure. One reason is the manager, who is a close friend of mine. Ever since they started getting more and better beers, he's asked what do I think would be good to have. They've got a large selection of singles, includeing 3 Monts, Orkney brews, St. Sebastian's, and other quality imports. they've also started carrying the New Holland line, with Full Circle, Ichabod, Paleooza, Sundog, and Mad Hatter. The also have lots of imports from countries like Jamaica(yes other than Red Stripe), Thialand, the U.K., Germany, Japan, China, Poland, and others. They keep it well stocked, but it's always a good idea to give them a call to see how the selection is holding up. If your in the Charleston area, go check it out. You'll be suprised too.
