On tap at Schmohz. Pretty dark brown pour, some whitish head. Quite roasty aroma, malt and coffee mostly. Mouthfeel a tad thin, but ok. Chalky/cocoa powder dryness, mixes well with the roast malt. Some coffee bitter finish. Would not be a problem drinking a few of these.
Good English or Foreign type stout, just don't expect and American Stout and you'll enjoy this fine.

$5 (?) bottle from Three Blind Mice in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.

Appearance: A nice black color with a slight head on it. Opaque, with sediment stuck to the bottom of the bottle after pouring.

Smell: Roast. Mostly coffee. Maybe some chocolate, but very little. Relatively one-note.

Taste/feel: Surprised at the 77 rating on this site, but I guess it's because it almost just tastes like coffee. A bunch of roast, no noticeable hop presence, maybe a slight hint of chocolate? Reasonably bitter aftertaste. Body isn't too thick, so you could drink a couple of these and be fine.

Not all that interesting, but it tastes pretty nice to me. I'd try it again.

Appearance: Pitch black and opaque with a thin tan head.

Aroma: Something off-putting here that I can't quite place. Besides that there is some dark roasted malt. Not all that aromatic.

Taste: On the label they mention lots of hops in this beer and I'd agree that it is nicely bitter, both from the hops and the charred dark malt flavor. Pretty much a typical American Stout (not sure why this is classified as an English Stout) with lots of roasted chocolate and bitter black coffee. The finish is pleasantly drying with a deep aftertaste of roasted malt. The 6.4% ABV seems to do the job of making the flavor robust.

Mouthfeel: Full in body and overcarbonated. Decent drinkability.

Final Thoughts: A good American Stout but nothing special. It's robustness is almost a bad thing because I was anticipating something more drinkable. Would I drink it again? Probably not.

This tastes like someone tossed some Hershey bars and a can of coffee into the bonfire and then made smoke juice. This really tastes like bottled smoke. On a side note they could put a little more effort into their packaging. The labeling kind of sucks. The only reason I bought the six pack is because it had six different beers in it and I couldn't make up my mid at the store as to what I wanted.

Perhaps their best beer, obtained bottle at Champane's Cellars. Dry, chocolate coffee roast stout. Black, with enormous amount of mocha coloured head. Cocoa aroma, as well as roast and chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel. Similar to Oveltine, if Overltine was a beer. Good drinkability, though dry with sips revealing more sugar sweet and roast bitter.
