a - wow. I've had a lot of scotch ales before, but never one that poured this dark and thick. Its like pouring a RIS. good amount of carbonating. head dies down, but a film remains.

s - roasted peat smoked malts....almost a BBQ smell. faint sweetness from a dark fruit.

t - ah crap, its infected. surprising it wasn't on the nose.... tart cherry flavor... mouthfeel is thin... damn, i had high hopes.

I'd love to try this fresh/uninfected.

Poured into a Gordon's thistle glass. Pours an incredibly deep dark garnet, not quite black. Barest hint of a dark mocha head that drops fairly quickly leaving a thin layer of foam and nice lacing.

Aromas of deep, rich, toffee malt, hint of smoke and peat. Almost cloying aroma.

Flavors of tart, sour smokiness, light peat and woodiness, toffee. Flavor isn't as sweet as the aroma leads you to believe. As it warms, you can pick up some dark fruits, prunes and raisins. Finish is medium, with a tart cherry sourness lingering. Reminds me a little of a belgian sour red.

Mouthfeel is medium, with a soft carbonation. Almost watery feel for a wee heavy.

Overall, not what I expected. Not your run of the mill wee heavy. Less mouthfeel, less malty. Hints of wood aging (is it wood aged?). Nice effort. But misses the mark.

Had in bottle, or 6 bottles, really.

A- Great. Dark chocolate brown, with a decent airy, bubbly tan head.
S- Great. Chocolate, and a spice- nutmeg maybe??? You can smell caramel and malt throughout, with a bourbony smell at the back?? This isn't BB (that I know of), but that kind of smell is there.
T- Very smooth. Nice, clean malt throughout, lighter chocolate on the taste than the smell. Again, some nutmeg and caramel. Overall very tasty and easy to drink.
M- Light bodied, which is a little surprising. Very drinkable.

Overall, a delicious brew. Tasty, but not overly intense flavors. Strong, but doesn't taste like liquor. Very easy to drink for this type of beer.

Schmohz in bottles now. Very cool. The pour spilled a deep, dark, and thick pile of beer. The colour seems quite dark even for a bonafide wee heavy. A cocoa coloured head rose and fell. No lingering lace. The nose is very smoky and sweet smelling. Chocolate and nut. The taste is very smoky as well. The alcohol is well disguised under the robust 'sweet and peat' burnt flavours. The mouthfeel is heavy. This is a substantial concoction. The drinkability is good, but a few of these would have you planted on your arse not doing much. Not bad. An interesting example of the style.

A very dark brown almost black color pour with a small frothy tan head , lasting a bit wit a bit of spotty lacing , light to medium carbonation . Aroma is roasty , malty , and peaty with hints of nuts and brown sugar . Flavor is earthy , malty , slightly smokey , with rasins , coffee and a wee bit of alcohol at the finish , but fairly well hidden , long roasty finish leaving your lips sticky with the faintest hint of smoke and maybe molasis , Full body with a chewy , creamy mouthfeel , I would call it very drinkable because I gulped down three of them last night with ease , it kicked my Arse . Dude this shit is good , will buy again ! Thank you for bringing your stuff to Greenville .

12 oz brown bottle

Schmohz Brewing Kiss My Scottish Arse poured into a tulip glass a dark brown color producing a nice looking 1 1/2 finger tan bubbly head that held well and dissipated to a thick ring of foam. The nose was dominated by roasty malt, smoky, and light scent of brown sugar. The flavor matches the nose with the addition of nuts and dark fruits. The mouth feel is to the smoother side, and medium for a Scotch Ale/Wee Heavy. There is a light alcohol warmth at the finish.

Kiss My Arse is enjoyable. It is slightly lighter than some of its Michigan brewed Scotch Ale/ Wee Heavy competitors.
